We certainly would see who was right, although if Frankies plans for the next two fights goes ahead I think he'll be beyond a fight with Williams anyway. There are other good but more realistic fights for Steve.
gavin is a realistic fight for steve, steve is at british title level now gavin has been handed his position by fighting lads with 4 days notice when he has been in the gym for 6 weeks, anyway is he a lightwelter or a welter? he wouldnt fight for the english welter, adnan amar cause he wants to win titles at lightwelter then all this talk that he is gonna fight mutley at 147 make your mind frank anyway you have only made 140 once the rest have been at the welter division. and ye frankie you have got a better amateur record and all that but ste does his talkin in the ring anyway so if you wanna have your padded record to get to the top you will come unstuck when you face someone who isnt fazed by by the hype that surrounds you on this site. ask anyone how hard ste trains you wont have to go far to ask cause there are people who you train with who know isnt there

fast eddie is williams lol
he would getstopped in 4-6 rounds by gavin quite easily imho :DDD

On the occasions i've seen Nigel Wright in action, his fights have been exciting.

You're really not doing your mate any favours. You're coming across very defensive and bitter
im not bitter im just answering a question with my opinion and my opinion isnt the opinion of steve williams so how is this effecting him? is this a boxing forum were people give their views? so im entitled to say mine, nigel wright is good at what he does but i think he is abit boring and frankie gavin is a talented fighter with all the pedegree (at amateur level) in the world im not doubting him im saying he would have a much sterner test against steve williams than an unfit lomax thrown in to survive a few rounds or young (i wont make round 6 through blowing out my arse) mutley,im not sayinf fight steve williams next im saying it would be a tougher test for frankie, dont take any of this personal people its just a forum with all different opinions

You're views and the fact that you go on about this issue consistently will have an effect on the way some people on here view him and it will be negative. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on here but you choose to diminish Gavin at every opportunity just in blind support of your mate. I'm sure a few people on here know fighters and support them, a lad i know also wants to fight Gavin and he's 8-0 but i don't come on here saying he's going to do this and that. He's a good fighter but won't have enough to tackle Gavin and will probably get stopped

That is a shame, I was looking forward to that fight.

I never thought of Wright as a boring fighter. It seems strange that Sky would show highlights of Wright vs Speight recently, but not be willing to show a very good English title/British eliminator fight between Wright and Williams.

Seems it has been confirmed, You can all see what I think of Gavin from my earlier post, Not a friend or colleague of his but I think the guy has the lot and then some, if his hands and injuries hold up then he wins a world title thats a gimmee as far as I am concerned, Skill level is superb.

However, any one telling you this is a step up Frankie is wrong, If its for the commonwealth belt then fair play to you, your first major belt I guess in the pro ranks and of course Mutley will be tough for a couple of rounds and can bang but you will pick him apart and then stop him, its a formality really and thats a shame. I genuinely think you need a fear factor now or you can stagnate mate, Seen all the stuff between your fans and the Williams fans but that fight actually is a step up because he will make you fight and box and think for 5 or 6 rounds, in my opinion you win by half way and I don't mean any disrespect to Williams as I thought he was giving Daws a huge argument when his corner pulled him out. He would stretch you mentally beyond what has happened so far as a pro, Mutley again with respect as he was a decent domestic operator once, won't stretch you in my opinion.

It has to be Daws or Theophane after this and thats the domestic scene done mate, move on and sharpish, you are one guy who can be moved on, you may lose a fight on cuts perhaps one day but that is the only way you get beat before you set foot on the world stage in my opinion but I can't for the life of me see what you are learning at this level.

Just an opinion and I guess thats what its all about.

straightforward fight for Frankie this. Mutley clearly past his best and not really a truly worthy opponent.

Frankie is probably up there with DeGale in terms of potential, I expect this to be routine for him. DeGale will be in a scrap but will come out on top fairly easily, but don't see Mutley testing Frankie really.

Fight fans will also get to see 2007 Amateur World Champion Frankie Gavin in his first 12 round championship fight against Young Mutley as he looks to move up the world rankings and push himself to the fore front of British Boxing.
Confirmation from Warren.

Mutley hasn't been upto much for quite a while now, it's an 'ok' matchup but certainly not a BIG STEP-UP or anything to write home about. WIll still be fairly interesting.

when i give my opinion on here it is what it is an opinion, you people have got me wrong, frankie gavin is class i never disputed this,as a fan of boxing i wanna see good fights that test an up and coming fighter like gavin so if a young williams vs gavin isnt a good fight that would test gavins skills better than an old mutley or an unfit lomax then i dont know what people want. frankie you are a godd fighter and have a lot of skills iv never disputed this so dont take my post's as a hate campaign against you and this note i will say no more :D

I dont see what the point in fighting this at 147lbs is Gavin is best suited fighting at 140lbs its seems, so why put him in fights at this weight when in his tougher fights further down the line he will be in a lower division

I agree with you.
Frankie is usually very forthright and quick to answer questions on here and I just wondered what his view was.
