For me this what I reckonBarryWashington wrote:some good match-ups. i would say odh/hearns should be at 147.IRLangmaid25 wrote:My second attempt

Mike Tyson v Rocky Marciano
Jack Johnson v Muhammed Ali
Bob Foster v Roy Jones at Light Heavyweight
Juan Manuel Marquez v Prince Naseem Hamed at Featherweight
Julio Cesar Chavez v Aaron Pryor at Light Welter
what are your predictions on these match-ups?
i'd go with (he has to be in top form) bowe by decision over lennox - i just think lennox definitely had an underrated chin and had some power to boot so i think this would look like mercer/lewis again except bowe might be able to do a little better than mercer did.
hearns by KO in the 8th. de la hoya was a tough bastard and did pretty decent at welter but this is the hitman we're talkin about.
duran by decision over pacquiao. they're both great at applying pressure - the difference is duran has the superior defense.
hopkins by split decision over hill. hill was a pretty damn good light heavyweight but i think hopkins would be a little too craft and have two of the judges give him the decision.
toney by decision over johnson. again in hypotheticals i just assume they're both in top shape and toney in top shape mentally & physically was a very good fighter.
marciano by TKO9 over tyson. marciano was a tough bastard i see tyson giving rocky tough moments in the early rounds but marciano would just dig his chest into tyson and just start grinding him down and eventually taking him out.
ali by decision over johnson. johnson would definitely frustrate ali but i just don't think johnson would generate enough of his own to earn a decision and i'm sure ali's workrate and the occasional scoring flurries would be enough in this one.
bob foster by KO10 over jones jr. i think jones jr. was a freak back in his day and from 160-175 you had to be very exceptional to beat jones jr. i think jones jr. would be leading up until the 10th on scorecards but foster would inevitably catch him with something and once he does it's lights out for roy. foster at LHW was too good for me to go against him though jones jr. is a very live underdog for me.
juan manuel marquez by decision over naseem hamed. i think jmm would do the exact same thing that hamed did. hamed may drop marquez but i don't see marquez going down & out and i see him getting back up and making life hell for hamed in that fight.
pryor & jcc fight to a draw. i know that seems tacky but i seriously cannot pick a winner in this one. jcc was the better technician but pryor really was a machine at 140. i can't call this one. though it seems logically to go with jcc sr. because he was much more proven than pryor was but again i can't say for sure who wins it.
Lennox Lewis v Riddick Bowe
Lewis on a points decision he will dominant the fight with his jab although Bowe would rock him along the way, Lewis' superior firepower and strength will score a couple of knockdowns but fails to put Bowe away.
Manny Pacquiao v Roberto Duran
An utter firefight at Welterweight neither fighter giving an inch throughout the fight with it being a tight points decision with neither fighting taking a two or three round lead before being pegged as it will be an utter nightmare to score so it will be a contraversial split decision with the Pacman nicking it with Duran demanding a rematch.
Virgil Hill v Bernard Hopkins
Two very cagey and experienced fighters with Hopkins nicking a points decision
James Toney v Glencoffe Johnson
Johnson keeps coming forward attempting to apply relentless pressure and infighting in the early rounds of the fight, but eventually Toney pulls setting the fight at long range and works off the left jab before ripping away to the body to take a wide points decision.
Mike Tyson v Rocky Marciano
An utter wildone from the first bell. Both Tyson and Marciano come charging out looking to take each other's heads off, both of them knock each other down in the first round and stand toe to toe until the end of the world. Then with more toe to toe brawling Tyson's will starts to crack as he is unable to put the extremely tough Marciano who is in his face pound away at his body all night long causing to recklessly pursue a knockout to end it, but gets laid out by a big left hook.
Re: Your Night of Boxing:
Love the Haye-Holyfield idea at Cruiser. I might even throw Spinks in there in a small move up from light-heavy. I still have not figured out how good Spinks was or wasn't.IRLangmaid25 wrote:For me personally it would be the following and it has taken alot of thought for this as it is alot harde than you think it is
All fights 12 rounds
The Pound for Pound Kings
Floyd Mayweather v Sugar Ray Robinson: Welterweight
Featherweight Fury
Erik Morales v Prince Nassem Ahmed Featherweight
The Prince and the Pretender
Joe Calzaghe v Lucian Bute: Super Middleweight
Welterweight Warfare
Roberto Duran v Miguel Cotto: Welterweight
Cruiserweight Collision
David Haye v Evander Holyfield: Cruiserweight
Middleweight Mayhem
Carlos Monzon v Nigel Benn: Middleweight
and that is all I can come up with at the moment
