Cholo, regarding Aragon's fabeled street fight with Lauro Salas, Art was told that Salas claimed to have knocked the Golden Boy down four times in the alley.
Aragon told the reporter, "He's a damn liar, two of them were slips!"

By the way, now that we have finished filming "The Amazing Spider Man" movie, Audie Aragon will have time to go thru dozens of new photos of his father he recently purchased from the L.A. Times archives. These photos were never revealed publicly, and Audie is going to share a few of them here when he gets a chance.

Great shot! I wish Alan Rudkin would have fought more in the L.A. area way back when.
When he finally came here for a title shot, it was at the very end of a brilliant career.
With all the great bantamweight talent showcased in Los Angeles during the era, Rudkin would have been box-office here, facing the great Mexican stars.
Alan Rudkin was always in the top ten during his years fighting, and those were the days of Eder Jofre, Fighting Harada, Jose Medel, Jesus Pimentel and Olivares.
I have deep respect for this great Brit bantamweight.

Alburquerque New Mexico, my mistake, i think i've taken too many punches.....

Cholo, I grew up with an Uncle who loved Art Aragon, his favorite fighter.
To the day he died, everytime I'd see him he'd repeat some story about Art and it would be punctuated by one of the Golden Boy's legendary quips.

Dan Navarro is Dave's cousin.
It was Dan who taught his younger cousin how to play the guitar.
Today David Navarro, Hap's nephew, is considered one of rock & roll's greatest guitarists.
David was married to Carmen Electra.
The interesting life of Dave Navarro can be read in his book, I believe the title is, "Don't try this at home"??

Dave Navarro is the oldest of the three sons of Hap's brother, Mike.
As for Dan, he and Eric Lowen wrote a song for Pat Benatar, "We Belong", that lost out to Whitney Houston's "I'll Always Love You" for Song of the Year.
As a film industry tech, I'm one of the few people that read screen credits, but I do so to keep track of who is doing what.
On many occasions, I have seen the name Dan Navarro among musical credits for songs he has written for leading singers & bands.
He also has written the sound track to a number of films, as well.
The apple didn't fall far from the tree, as Hap himself has written lyrics in Spanish for some of his son's work.
The Navarro family has been involved in the media and entertainment world for generations.

A Story worth telling . . .

A book on Art Aragon is a great idea, and a documentary film as well.
I'm not referring to a major film like "The Fighter" or "Raging Bull", just a bio, a 60 minute well done documentary.

I'm not the guy to write a book on Art Aragon, I'm writing about the boxer who broke the Golden Boy's box-office records, Mando Ramos.
I have history with Mando, and a story to tell.

ART ARAGON, The Golden Boy of California Boxing, a youthful veteran of 13 years of pro battling, will be out to retain his supremacy as the greatest box office attraction in the history of local fisticuffing. Art has drawn more then one million dollers since first donning the gloves professionally and otherwise carved an undisputable niche in the annuals of fistiana.
Although he was considered a much better-then-average boxer at the outset of his career, Golden Boy began to display a fearful ability to smack a man down as early as his third pro start, when he stiffened Frank Gallardo in two rounds.
