Was bored so looking through my boxing record, ive boxed 8 champions of some sort. and only lost on points to them.Decided I want a title before i retire. so the next 3 years is aimed at improveing my record and getting a shot at any title to retire on.
Gonna retire when i reach 100 fights , looking at achiveing this in 3 and half years, for when im 29 so i can pursue my other hobby.

British Masters super-middleweight title -Eddie Mcintosh.
Irish light heavyweight title -John Waldron.
BBBofC Central Area super middleweight title - Paulino Da Silva.
BBBofC Southern Area super middleweight title - Paul Bowen.

Re: Journeymen with a drop of ambition left.
I remember that fight- was a good opener- and one that really could have gone either way. Refs tend to score these sort of fights to the "hometown" fighter.James The Great wrote:

I think, to be honest, if you are looking to build a few more wins it's certainly possible, but you will find you get offered a lot less bouts!!
Guys who win more than they lose tend to have, what, three or four fights a year. Journeymen get something like 15-20 fights a year sometimes!

Hello mate you could maybe look at the Northern Area title to start with as the Super Middleweight title hasn't been defended since 2004 and the Light Heavyweight title has not been defended since 1994 also there's the British Masters title and the English title to look at
hope this helps mate and good luck

Re: Journeymen with a drop of ambition left.
I think it's easy to ask a World Champion a question, because most of the time, you are asking them to explain why they are so damn good. Looking at your record, someone might skirt around the fact that you have lost most of your fights.
So, James, can I ask you an honest question.
Why do you think you have lost so many fights by decision? Is your work rate low? Are you too defensive? Are you over matched?
I am not in any way having a go at you or mocking the role you play in British boxing. Just wondering what your thoughts were.
I hope you win a title and I also hope you get your ton up. Who knows, you might be the british Freddie Pendleton.

Re: Journeymen with a drop of ambition left.
probably all the factors you have put at some point have contributed to my loses. my workrate can be slow at times, then some fights i genuine beat the guy but dont get the win, and yes sometimes im overmatched, but its my job role to box win or lose im game. lots of things but the main thing is im the away fighter and a ko is my only real chance of a win. so sometimes in the past admittedly i havent tried to win because of i think theres no point.

forget the title ambition, just to try and win should be your goal, people pay money to see a boxing MATCH.

no one decides what someones ambition should be apart from the person themselves. so i wont be taking ur comment in. ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

please yourself, but would you pay to see a live football match if you knew who was going to win beforehand, or you knew one of the sides was not trying as much as they should have been, just food for thought for you matey boy.James The Great wrote:no one decides what someones ambition should be apart from the person themselves. so i wont be taking ur comment in.

obviously if ive got title ambition then im gonna wanna win, and try hard, what you put dosent make sense. its goes hand in hand.
I always try and win lately and put in a good performance for the crowd. seems like you got alot of negativty in you laddo that im not going to accomodate. cheerio.

I'd love to see you fight your next fight as if it's your last and give it absolutely everything you've got. Your road to a title starts with Frankie Borg and I hope you work your arse off and get a win. Good luck mate.
