Thats an interesting question. He's been the best aussie born (that word is important) fighter of the last decade. Has beaten green, soliman, geale, medley ect. But the lack of a win over one or two big name overseas fighters will be super damaging in his overall standings. Would he crack the top 50

geale fight was close, i thought geale knicked it by a point but cant really get to upset about it. Would have liked to have seen a rematch. Who else? Soliman first fight, yes but mundine totally iced him second time out.

Shit it's a tough crowd here lately. I was just trying to describe the level a person has to perform at to be able to be considered a legend. I know Steve waugh wasn't a boxer, but his level of acheivment is such that he is respect wherever his chosen field of endeavour is played.
As for other boxers? There are dozens I could name off the top of my head but I was trying hard not to come accross as one dimensional. Guess I failed.

Why not? I'm sure sure playing cricket isn't easy, but no sports as hard as boxing, it takes more balls to lace on the gloves, and jump in the ring, than it does to go onto a cricket field, so how can Steve Waugh be more of a legend than any boxer?

And last i checked the scoreboard reads mundine 1, green 0.

In countries such as ours where there's never been an abundance of world beating fighters, the ones that have made it become godlike entities. Then there are the plain old local legends that never won a world title and that almost nobody outside the country has even heard of. Vic Patrick comes to mind

. Ha ha but Green was weight drained, why does everyone hate Mundine? I met him and he's a good bloke. I don't read into what peope say when cameras on them,what ever have to do, to get people interested, and hey its worked for him. I've never met Green but his probably a good bloke aswell, most boxers are good blokes

I think probably the stuff people say joking around to there mates, he says it on tv, he is the opposite of you would expect when you meet him . I don't know if he believes his own hype or not, boxing was dead in this country, and he's got people who otherwise wouldnt be talking about boxing, talking about it, and Green pretty ran off his name. I tell you what but that hasn't help me at all, in my boxing career. I've still had to sell tickets to get fights and get paid in tickets for fights.
