Nigel Wright is a nightmare, with notice, at the right weight he could get in with just about anyone and give them a proper argument. He can box and punch; that poor kid last time :( his manager needs sacking. Wright is no stepping stone, hope Nicki is in good nick and has a game plan or Nigel will clean up.

Nigel really seems to know what he is doing and looks very grounded, his legs are always under him when he punches or moves. He has got better the last few years; he is British Title material at least.

I'm not that sure that the aggression and fire can be taught; some people are naturally passive (even boxers) and some are passive/aggressive and some are just out and out aggressive. Nigel seems to have the temperament to be patient, to pick the shots and box to a win. There's a craft to that but to watch it and get fans they need knowledgeable fans and neighbours. An aggressive fighter; well everyone knows what they are seeing.

You don't win ABA titles by being a pure brawler or a steamer though :TU:

Nicki won a junior aba title with a first round stopage and lost in his 1st ever championship in the final to Amir khan on points which was a good fight to watch,he had only 9 fights behind him wen he boxed khan,he had 86 w 80 at that time, he never went senior as he turned over

There are more than a few good, spirited boxers between journeyman class and Nigel Wright. I've only seen Nicki box once and obviously you know his talent and potential. I have seen Wright a few times though and he is a real, class and hard 10-12 round boxer. If it comes off and Nicki wins, who does he box then? he's up the top domestic level without the necessary grounding and experience. I understand it must be very frustrating to be slated for 'ticking over' and 'keep busy' bouts but getting fed up with it and throwing him in with a wolf is a risky thing to do IMO. Jamie Speight looked lost against Wright and it was man v boy and Speight is a very decent boxer at his level of experience.

I had a feeling it would come to this! You must admit though, mate its a hell of a jump from Moyo to Wright.
