Yes very classy interview by swifty, especially considering he's just done 12 hard rounds. I tip my hat to him.

Have to agree. I also approve of John saying his piece there and then in front of Smith, he was 100% correct in what he said and i think the scouser new the card was a joke.

Regardless of what they both say i'd love to see a 3rd fight between the pair.

Close fight again but for me Simpson won the fight. Much of smiths work was hitting simpson on the arms and gloves. Simpson landed harder and cleaner more often. Aside from the first 2 I dont think Smith won a round clearly. Simpson dominated him physically. Smith constantly held and was not warned. How anyone could score the twelth for smith when he didnt throw a punch is beyond me. Even on Woodhall's scorecard removing the daft 10-8 round 1 and scoring the last round for Simpson makes it Simpson by one.

The 10-8 score was absolutely ridiculous (notice there was no 10-8 when Smith was hurt). I also thought Simpson clearly took the 12th, but scoring otherwise was not nearly as bad a call as the 10-8 first round.

maybe o'connor liked Smith's constant holding? wtf was the ref doing letting him hold so blatantly...yep o'connor needs sorting out but these days refs need to learn the rules all over again. holding, persistent holding, is against the rules..i guess it depends who is doing it tho eh? :shame:

simpson won both fights imo..hope he dont drop the soap in the shower or he'll get fkced again

Agree 100%. The commentators seemed to be obsessed with Smith's speed but didn't really mention that often not many clean shots were actually hitting Simpson. I sometimes wonder if judges score by the rules or whether they just give a round to who 'looked better'.

yeh mate, why the fck were they calling round 1 a 10-8? simpson weathered the storm and came back at the end..was hardly 1 sided..

I really feel sick for the kid. I mean he's got a young son and gives everything to the sport and us as fans. You watch those 24 rounds back to back, forget about tallying scores and I guarantee you leave with the impression that Simpson is the boss. He should be looking at a world title shot and big money but instead is back in the wilderness. I know it was close but I think scoring the fight for Smith is hard to justify. Simpson clearly won enough rounds to get the nod. O'Connor's card is disgusting and really spits in Simpson's face.

His style is simply not one that gets rounds in the bank. But thats not an excuse, judges are supposed to be experts. How many times did Smith fire a flashy combination that hit gloves and arms to be countered inside with hard uppercuts. But Smiths work LOOkED better. Hopefully he can get a Euro shot.

I thought the commentary was terrible, everything Smith did drew applause from Woodhall, Simpson landed some beauty's and nothing was even said half the time. And I really can't see how Richie scored the first round 10-8 he was dazzled for about 50 seconds but the rest of the round you couldn't seperate them!
