Ibeabuchi vs .......

Post by baulks »

How would Ike "The President" Ibeabuchi have fared against Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Wlad Klitschko and Vitali Klitschko had he not been imprisoned.

Pardon the ignorance, but who is Ibeabuchi?

Ibeabuchi was the best of the best of the best. He would have KOed Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, and both K brothers on the same night with one hand tied behind his back. :TU:

I think he would have lost a decision to all of the boxers you have quoted, Baulks. He maybe could have pulled off a victory against an older Tyson but that's about it.

Ike would have fitted in nicely with the Hasim Rahman and Sam Peter Group.

I think he would have stopped Wlad. Can't see him doing very well against the rest of them.

He'd have a punchers chance against all of them, and little better than that. I think he'd have beaten Tyson if they had fought in '99 or later, but remember, that was a faded Tyson. Against a prime Tyson, Ibeabuchi gets widely outpointed or stopped late. His next best chance would have been against Wlad, who I think he would have had a good chance of knocking out in the early 00's. The Wlad of today most likely wins by by a fairly boring and one-sided decision. Lewis-Ibeabuchi was talked about and dismissed by Lewis, again, Ibeabuchi would have a punchers chance as Lewis didn't have the strongest jaw, but most likely this would be a lopsided decision win to Lewis.

I really can't see Ibeabuchi beating Holyfield or Vitali.

Tyson: Brutal brawl with Ike's superior stamina taking over and stopping Mike in 10 rounds.

Holyfield: Can't see Holy putting a dent in him, would outwork him early on; but Ike stops him in the last 2 rounds.

Lewis: Easier than expected Ike's power shots to body and head gets a lazy Lewis out of there in 8 rounds.

Wlad: Ike works inside, and Klits tries to out wrestle him, bang! uppercut inside; it's over in 5 rounds.

Vitali: Ike fails to get inside, Vitali's superior at range and strong enough to hold Ike off. Vitali by Split Decision.

If we are talking late 90's Tyson then Ike has a chance. If we are talking late 80's then Tyson all the way.

Ike would have stopped Holyfield? Wow!! you either over-rate too much Ike or under-rate too much Holyfield. The way I see it is Holyfield would have out-smarted a brawler like Ike something like 11 -1. And that is being generous to Ike.

He would have Koed Lewis too? Now I see you over-rate Ike too much. This is boxing and anything could happen. However, the more likely scenario is Lewis would have KOed Ike.

The legend continues to be over-rated based on what? Defeating the one dimensional Tua? His only decent win is against a over-blown light heavy weight Byrd. Other than that there is nothing on his resume that would indicate he was destine to be an all-time great.

Ibeabuchi vs ....... The Justice System.

Justice wins by knockout in round 1.

That disgusting scum should never see the light of day again.

Treating this as a serious question…

Ike falls into that Tony Ayala, Bernard Mays category.

Ike looked good, was big (size makes an impression on people) and won a couple of fights against notable contenders. Tua was not a god by any means but on his day you had to be good to beat him.

So, I think Ike had a shot at being a special fighter but who knows… He didn’t fight long enough to know if he could have continued applying himself in training. We never got to see his weaknesses (all fighters have them) played out.

Your obsession with this man continues. This may help you a little bit:

"Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is nothing to be ashamed of, no vice, no degradation, it cannot be classified as an illness; we consider it to be a variation of the sexual function produced by a certain arrest of sexual development. Many highly respectable individuals of ancient and modern times have been homosexuals, several of the greatest men among them (Plato, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, etc.). It is a great injustice to persecute homosexuality as a crime, and cruelty too....

"If you are unhappy, neurotic, torn by conflicts, inhibited in social life, analysis may bring you harmony, peace of mind, full efficiency whether you remain a homosexual or gets changed...."

-Sigmund Freud

It is ok Irene. Admit your love for a man you have never even met. You no longer have to feel shamed and hide behind a fake and overly obsessive hatred for the man. Nobody here will judge you for dreaming about his 'phone booth' fight with David Tua as you lay down to sleep in your mother's basement each night. ;)
