Re: Jeffries vs Walcott!
Walcott would embarrass him early and then have to hold on down the stretch. I see a replica of the Marciano fight and Jeffries gets him late. Lets say 14th rd KO, way behind on the cards. Sorry Joe, another heartbreaker.

Re: Jeffries vs Walcott!
We know that Jeffries could be outboxed - Fitszimmons and Corbett both managed to do this for a sustained period, and I'm sure that Walcott was the equal of either of these men in terms of mobility and ring smarts (sorry Jim&Bob, without footage Joe gets the benefit).
I ask myself this, though. If Marciano's stumpy little arms eventually managed to catch up to Jersey Joe, why would Jima da Jeff not do the same at some point. He's got 2.5" in reach over Joe and he's taller to boot. There's nothing to suggest that Jeffries could not finish his man once he had him in trouble.
What a great matchup, well done to he who threw this one out.

I would make Walcott a very live underdog here, but over fifteen, something just tells me Jeffries finds a way...

Jeffries inside 10 unless the gutless Walcott of Walcott-Marciano II shows up.
Re: Jeffries vs Walcott!
Jeffries was tougher and stronger...
But I think Jersey Joe is too quick n' slick for Jim. Walcott would outbox him and win by Unanimous Decision.
Well that's how I read it anyway.

People should not forget it was an aged & over-the-hill Walcott who Marciano beat (though he found some form that first night).
