Is chris your brother Billy? I remember seeing you in the am ratings circa 94-95 what happened when you turned pro, why didn't you get the same success?

Yeah. I've heard John McDermott get described as the unluckiest heavyweight in Britain, but Sprott could qualify for that honour too. He's been robbed in quite a few close domestic fights over the years. His record doesn't really reflect his ability. Somewhere along the line he kind of got relegated to being a journeyman and has been fed to the lions abroad on more than occasion. I think there's been an improvement in his boxing since he's been with Jim Evans and had the sparring with the klitschkos. I think it showed from his 2nd fight with Audley. I know Audley was fighting with one arm, but Sprott looked fast, skillful and sharp until the last round of that fight.

Always gives his best and fights aggressively. Is always in shape (unlike a lot of heavyweights) and seems to be a top guy outside the ring too.

Has been held back due to a mixture of poor matching, lack of size, and sheer bad luck IMO.

I think he's good and a top bloke but stylistically flawed, no disrespect intended there is something missing when I watch him

Well, Sprott has a much tougher night ahead of him than in the last Prizefighter. It will say a lot if he can come out on top.

yes he is mate. I never had the dedication mate if i was dedicated i could have been a cruiser and done alright but too small too fat and too lazy to be a heavyweight out of my 6 losses i honestly think i could and should have won 5 of them(and im not like most boxers who think they cant be beat) im as honest as they come but hey ho dont look back in anger and all that

got to a few junior semis then drifted out the game till i joined the army was in the top ten for 5 or so yrs but danny watts steve burford and vinny jones were my weight in the army team 3 good lads. in my last yr in the army i got to the 1/2s where i was due to fight audley but came off a bike 3 days before so couldnt make it. left the army moved to hartlepool the next yr i won the championships with a hard training routine of running/walking 1.5 miles to the gym doing 4x2 pads then that was it. oh and also during the championships i had a rule where i had to have one clear day off the drink before a fight.not clever i know but it worked for me the next yr i lost in the 1/4s and turned pro.i do look back with regret and the other month i even wrote to the board about getting my licence back but my nerves as a pro were terrible(i think that had more to do with knowing i used to sell around 100 tickets but knew i wasnt fit enough to do 4-6 rds) one day i might wake up and think fook it lets have a proper go but sadly i doubt it.
as for my bro he will have done ok very similar sort of fighter as steve roberts but i think his lack of a dig would have found him out at the top not british probably but who knows he won 6 aba titles and in amateur terms is a legend. he earned a decent wage in the army so many british camps in the game earn very little for there efforts so i think he done the right thing by staying am. plus he got a european bronze commonwealth gold and an m,b,e so his happy.
but john pearce he could have gone to the very top of the pros i think lovely bloke but i sensed he didnt really like boxing. plus he struggled with his weight. Johns not too well at the moment(or at least he wasnt a couple of mths ago) but hopefully he will be alright. but i really do think he could have gone all the way
