Nice DK bill that won't attract any attention.

Post by stujones »

I know this is a B and I forum, but.... well I hope British TV picks this one up.

It seems like the falling empire of DK is still trying to give the boxing public some meaningful bills and he has got one lined up June that looks impressive, but as it contains no charasmatic fighters it still going to be a hard sell.

25-June - 3 world title fights - We have Tarvious Cloud taking on Yusaf Mack (which isn't the most appealing world title fight ever), we have Guilermero Jones finally defending his world title against Ryan Coyne - might be an upset here, Coyne's the hometown fighter - Jones is old and inactive. Never seen Coyne in action, but he is undefeated. We also have the most wanted Light Middleweight by fringe contenders, Cornelius Boundrage defending his title vs TBA (the queue must be huge).

My pick of the bill is Matthyse vs Devon Alexander - no title yet, surely it will be an eliminator though. And rounding it off is a Heavyweight title eliminator for the WBC featuring Ray Austin.... AGAIN!!!!!

Its a nice attempt by DK and I hope it comes through, it will probably not even get shown over here. How many triple world title bills have there been in 2011?

That does sound like a cracking little card. Hopefully someone will pick it up

I'm 90% sure this one's on Premier Sports, I remember them announcing Matthyse/Alexander.

during 2005-2007 i received free french tv on a staellite and there was a channel called tps star which always had all of don kings big triple title bills but no other boxing! Kings cards were always great value.

The man is 80 now but still tries to innovate and he has tried his damndest best to revitalise the hw division.....if haye and klitchko have any respect for the history of the hw division they should ask don king to be ringside purely in a non promotion basis......lol back in the 80s don king being near any other promoters fighter was like letting dracula be in charge of the blood bank, but lol he's 80 now and surely a harmless ex murderer and convict
