Haye was saying this is the first time Wlad is fighting someone that's healthy, not over weight or fighting after a long lay off.

Wlad started by shaking Adam 0booths hand and then tryed to shake Hayes hand and haye left him hanging. Its naw showing u it all the now.

You would be spot on. Haye sounded a little nervous to be honest. You don't realize the size difference until you see them stand together. It says on paper 3inches but looks more. Wlad is a gent who said Haye is a good champion and has a brilliant record. Haye countered Wlads praise by calling him a fraud. :bag:

Sounds like Wlad's one up in the mindgames department then, a big part of Haye's plan has always been to get Wlad angry and make him lose it. Sounds like a heavyweight version of DeGale (Haye) and Groves (Wlad) on Ringside

One of them has to do that role in order to get the big numbers and Haye has been doing it for a long time now. If he was to change tact now they'd be a lot of people saying that it proved he was scared of them

Anno mate brings the entertainment. Haye is capable of saying almost anything so its good to watch. Just saw the face to face. They are about a foot about, noone wanted to look away. Both look ready to rumble.

Weird isn't it the way there's supposedly only three inches in it yet it looks wildly different. I think it's just something that happens when you get a relatively normal bloke standing next to one of these real giants. I mean I'm 6-3, I've got no reason to lie about my height, but I remember feeling like an absolute midget when standing next to the likes of Lennox or Bowe, both of whom were only a couple of inches taller.

Either that or Haye's just a liar!

You'd think the BBC might be able to get a picture from the press conference. Their boxing coverage is awful.

Update: They did actually get a current pic up. But Haye says Wlad is still avoding him (well spotted asterix)

That's unusual. David made a reference to "the 7ft 2inch giant Valuev".

What a dreadful batch of pictures. Whatever happened to the days when fights were promoted professionally and you'd get the fighters posing with their shirts off etc, looking like fighters. Blokes in suits and tracksuits aren't going to sell shit IMO. Boring.

From the article (emphasis mine):
"And I'm used to winning titles abroad - I went to Paris and beat the undisputed cruiserweight champion in Jean Marc Mormeck, I went to Germany and beat a 7ft 2in giant in Nikolay Valuev, who Wladimir and his brother [WBC title-holder Vitali] have been avoding for years.

Av been shopping about to get the best price for Haye KO and got 6s. That got to be worth a couple of quid. I think the bookies will push his price in nearer the time. The press confrence didn't give anything away today so am sticking by Haye to win inside the distance.
