Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I thought Haye seems a bit rattled when Wlad was in his face about the twitter account he has. I don't think he expected Wlad to be as bold and Wlad looked huge compared to Haye which must be slightly intimidating even for a guy like Haye. All that said, I do fancy Haye in this one as long as he can get inside the jab which is easier said than done. Truly cannot wait for the fight. Will be an unbelievable weekend!
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I have no problem with Haye trash-talking Klitschko. Wlad is polite, courteous and respectful. We had two opposing fighters who were both like that in Vegas at the weekend. Look what happened there.
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I could agree with that. I think Haye has it in his own mind that he has Wlad nervous, but when i seen Wlad's mocking of Haye's tweets, he did not seem nervous to me, and an air or realisation seemed to appear over Haye's face then.SteveDow wrote:I thought Haye seems a bit rattled when Wlad was in his face about the twitter account he has. Haye needs to focus on bringing his A game, and not worrying about if Wlad will be fighting nervous, or not.
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
Yeah, see how he is tomorrow. I've seen him a bit dry-lipped and jittery at previous pressers so it's not a huge worry... just as long as he keeps on converting that nervous energy into speed come fight time!G0mez wrote:He certainly didn't seem as bold as he normally is.charlieb wrote:Was it just me, or did Haye seem very nervous?
Let's see what the London presser brings, because that one wasn't as good as I thought it was gonna be.

Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I dont think Wlad is nervous in the slightest. He has always seemed super confident when it comes to Haye.ALI wrote:I could agree with that. Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
Another point that might just be down to me seeing things - did Wlad look rather gaunt and drawn in the face to anyone else? As though he's trained like a demon for this?
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
This reminds me of the story of when Honeyghan went to fight Don Curry and the American at the final press conference went to shake the Ragamuffin's hand, and Honeyghan slapped it away and said something like, "Oi ain't shaykin' yowah 'and; Oi'm 'ere to knock you aht, you kahnt."DougieC30 wrote:Haye was saying this is the first time Wlad is fighting someone that's healthy, not over weight or fighting after a long lay off.
Wlad started by shaking Adam 0booths hand and then tryed to shake Hayes hand and haye left him hanging. Its naw showing u it all the now.
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I bet he has. It would kill him to lose to Haye.charlieb wrote:Another point that might just be down to me seeing things - did Wlad look rather gaunt and drawn in the face to anyone else? As though he's trained like a demon for this?
I've just watched the Sky Sports video, which has the extra footage regarding Twitter. Haye seems confident.
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I thought Haye came across poorly (he looked like a kid who had been refused to have his favourites sweets when Wlad offered his hand - poor form that he did that), but I thought Wlad came out as bitter and ironic. I sensed he was taking the p*ss when he was doing all that respect things.MachoMan09 wrote:Haye came across as a knob (as usual) and Wlad came across as a top bloke (as usual). None of this matters when the leather starts flying, though. Wlad has Haye's number but the puncher's chance will be ever-present.
Wlad seems to be a nice guy, but that was OTT by his standards. I think he is rattled and trying to show he isn't.
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
wlad is a 'gent'...a 'top bloke'...'courteous'...'respectful'...
do me a f**king favour!!
the heavyweight champion is sposed to be a little more than a robotic automaton who pretends to be a nice guy for the cameras...he needs charisma, presence...and above all an edge.
whatever happened to 'i'll eat his children' or 'i'll f*ck you till you love me f*ggot' or 'When I see you, I'm gonna beat you and yo momma's ass.' or 'I''ll fight anybody, from flyweight to yo momma's weight'?!?!!?
'i vill make you pizza face' hardly compares really.

Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
That was mind games from Wlad. He was trying to get Haye to do his bidding -- shake my hand, show them your mobile phone, write this on Twitter, etc. -- Haye did what he wanted to do. The Klitschkos are good at mind games and manipulating the audience.stujones wrote:I thought Haye came across poorly (he looked like a kid who had been refused to have his favourites sweets when Wlad offered his hand - poor form that he did that)

Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
Agree. I think DH has been imagining Wlad over and over as the dazed & confused sap he's seen ( many times ) floundering on the canvas against Sanders. Then the reality of the HUGE, confident and very assured man he met yesterday may have rattled him.ALI wrote: I could agree with that. It's all very well "beating" a big hapless lump like Valuev, as DH constantly reminds everyone, but Wlad is a million miles away from the big Russian. He's massive, co ordinated, experienced, smart, hits like a mule and has a better chin than DH too.

Definitely. I think it's obvious who's manipulating who here and Dave doesn't like it because he thought he would be twisting Wlad upAsterix wrote:That was mind games from Wlad. this was wlad firing back at david haye after all the hayemakers antics...haye would have been expecting this and handled it perfectly imo
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I can't figure out who really has the upper hand at the moment, and I don't think I will until the fight starts, and then it might not even matter.
Both fighters are confident, and both believe they can win. I'm pretty sure of that.

Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
I'm inclined to agree with apophenic here. The fact that Wlad needed to resort to mind games is a sign that he is rattled. I think Haye and Hayemaker go to far with the psychology of the sport (e.g. the colours signify a gameplan etc). However, Wlad has never acted like that at a press conference, which for me signfies he is worried (which can also mean, expect him to be very focused in training).
Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
To play devil's advocate, Wladimir is a very proud man, a man of ego. If anyone tries to bring him down, he will fight back. Had any of his prior opponents spoken, and done, the same as Haye, Wlad would arguably have acted in the same way, despite being ultra confident. I don't think it's necessarily a sign Wlad is rattled.stujones wrote:I'm inclined to agree with apophenic here. The fact that Wlad needed to resort to mind games is a sign that he is rattled. Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
The more it goes on, the more I think Haye's going to get knocked out. Hope I'm wrong.
It just feels to me like he has basically been building to this point and maximising his earnings for this last fight. All the excuses are in place. I don't know, maybe I'm being cynical.

if he's acting differently than he normally would then on the surface that's gotta be a good thing for Haye...Asterix wrote:To play devil's advocate, Wladimir is a very proud man, a man of ego. i think he IS rattled...i think the fact he's acting in a way that's not usual for him proves this...

My point is that the opponent is not the usual, either, so it depends what you attribute it to.apophenic wrote:if he's acting differently than he normally would then on the surface that's gotta be a good thing for Haye...Asterix wrote:To play devil's advocate, Wladimir is a very proud man, a man of ego. Re: Today's Haye-Klitschko presser
i know what you're saying but my point is that the opponent - haye - has moved wlad away from his comfort zone with his actions....ergo wlad feels the needs to respond to this..hence his behaviour at the presser yesterday...Asterix wrote:My point is that the opponent is not the usual, either, so it depends what you attribute it to.apophenic wrote:if he's acting differently than he normally would then on the surface that's gotta be a good thing for Haye...Asterix wrote: To play devil's advocate, Wladimir is a very proud man, a man of ego. ultimately this may work in either fighters favour.
todays press conference should be interesting.
