They have feasted on tiny Europeans and fat, unambitious, bloated Yanks for almost a decade.

Haye is no more arrogant than Naz was. People wanted to see Naz get knocked out, and Khan, and Eubank. I never did.

He is a tremendous fighter. He fought the best at CW, stepped up and since then has hammered Barratt and beaten two former world champs, one of which was 7ft+ and odds on favourite on here to knock him out (Valuev).

He lost to Thompson, took it like a man and came back

He fought smart vs Valuev and when he did decide to unload he had him wobbling.

Ruiz didn't win a minute of a round, and Harrison is his own story. Fight should never have happened.

Haye is going over to Germany to take on Wlad and still gets criticised. He went over there to fight Valuev and got the same stick.

It really leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

I don't agree with everything he and Booth do. I don't think he should retire and bang that drum. He should concentrate on both Klits and go down in history as one of our greatest champs, which he would be should he beat them both.

I am amazed at how many people are not backing Haye here. Of course we all think Wlad is a nice guy, but has he ever really been entertaining as a fighter? Time for a new guy to come and knock the the Klits off their perch I say.

The performance & result of the fight, will make all this propaganda irrelevant in the aftermath.

On a purely boxing level, personality aside, Haye makes for a more interesting spectacle and this is confirmed by the worldwide interest in this bout, which has hit levels of interest that Wlad has never experienced.

I'd rather watch Wlad chat in the studio than David Haye - but I'd rather watch the latter actually fight than Wlad.

So I put a double on two has-beens. Ronaldo to win the golden boot at the world cup and Tyson to knock Lewis out in the first. I put £50 on and the bloke behind the counter said Ronaldo had no chance! Sure enough, he won the golden boot and Tyson let me down.

I dont see why Haye's arrogance is so off-putting to some people that they would go as far as to back Wladimir to win this fight.

Haye might be arrogant, but the majority of what he is saying is true. The Klitschko's have not done good for the heavyweight division or boxing in general, they are cherry-picking their oponents, many of which have been fat slobs and outright bums that just turn up for the payday, they do take their oponents to the cleaners in the contract negotiations. They are both extremely boring to watch, so much so that its really only avid boxing fans that can stand watching their entire fights on live tv. They do have boring personalities, sure they are nice people, but they have no appeal whatsoever.

There is a lot of truth in what Haye is saying, like it or not. He says that he is going to destroy Wlad so bad that the big Ukranian will never want to fight another fight again. I hope he does just that.

Spot on for me and totally agree. I want to see as many Brits as possible to go on to be world champions. People like Haye/Mayweather/Khan etc use their mouths the way they do to promote their fights and make money. Can't blame them really.

Just watched the clip and it's impossible not to like Vladimir - intelligent, articulate (in his non-native language) and a sense of humour. Personally I'll take that over many of the previous heavyweight champs.

I think we also need to remember the way national bias can skew our perspective - if Vlad was British we'd be hailing him as the second coming and defending him to the hilt against Yanks etc who would be slamming his style. We'd point to him being an amazing ambassador for the sport outside the ring, and an all-conquering champ inside it, who shouldn't be knocked for using a style that's incredibly effective for him. We'd also be pointing to the way he's come back from adversity and truly shown his mettle in doing so, while also cleaning out the division of any credible challengers.

As for Haye, I've always been a fan, but even knowing he's doing things to hype the fight, I find him a bit crass at times and the hypocrisy is a bit tiresome - he's in no position to talk about boring fights after Valuev and the Harrison fiasco, not to mention probably the worst title fight I've ever seen when he fought (and I use the term loosely) Ismail Abdoul.

Given this, I'm pretty much like Glyn and co in that I just feel may the best man win...

If Haye was going to stay in boxing for definite then I'd be behind him, but as things stand, with him repeatedly claiming he's going to retire this year whatever, I think it might actually be better for the sport if Wlad won. Or if Haye beats Wlad, Vitali beats Haye. What use to boxing is a heavyweight champion who retires immediately after having discredited his main rivals? The division would look even more crap then, so you could argue that Haye wins would actually be bad for the sport.

And in all honesty, Haye has never been a seller for the mag anyway when I've put him on the cover — as I've said often, Pacman and Floyd knock any Brit out of the water in sales terms. If Haye were to hang around and keep fighting, maybe things would change, but as things stand it really doesn't make much difference to me or the mag — I'm just looking forward to it as an interesting and hopefully exciting fight, there is no issue of patriotism for me.
