Webb vs Arron Who Wins....??(RbR)

Great fight!
Webb was looking sheer class early with his countering, feinting and movement but after that right hand the whole fight changed! Arron's jab and cross worked really well after the 5th. Webb's bravery was different class, I hope he comes again!

WOW!! Best fight on Sky for a while that.

I had a few quid on Arron so was shouting my head off in that 5th round, couldn't believe the ref let Webb carry on to be honest as his legs were gone and he didn't even look at the ref. Fair play though, he was the champ and deserved his chance.

Arron played it perfectly, the Sky commentary (especially Watt) were doing what they always do, just picking out Webb's early work, but it was clear he was expending LOADS of energy and it wasn't really til the 4th/5th that they started to mention this. Arron paced it really nicely, he started slowly and just built up pace and intensity, let Webb burn himself out with the early non-stop movement and then started to pick him off.

Arron's power really seems to be coming on now, he seems to hurt his opponents in most his recent fights and I can see him getting a fair few more KO's at British level as he fills out more over the next couple of years.

Credit to Webb, I don't know where he pulled that resistance from to stay on his feet in that 5th round, but ultimately I think he should have been pulled out around the 9th/10th when he went back to his corner and just looked absolutely drained. He just wasted too much enegery early and that 5th round just took all the snap out of him, I do worry what this fight might have taken out of him cos he absolutely went to the bottom of the well, it would have been better for his career to get him out of there earlier imo.

Well done to Arron, a Droylsden lad, I live down the road in Ashton so was rooting for him!

I think Sky's commentary was spot on to be honest, Webb did deserve all the credit in the first four rounds and I thought it was an amazing call by Jim saying "he will not recover from this" while he was down. I knew he was hurt but I didn't think he would be as gone as what Jim was saying he was when he was down. Jim was spot on there.

Jim was saying what I was thinking in the 5th. Crediting Webb's resistance, wondering if Aaron had blown his chance (quite poor finishing skills from Aaron - that will come with experience).

Credit to BOTH boxers after the 5th - Webb's guts and durability, Aaron's patience..... I really thought he had blown it. I had it level going into the last round, but at the end of the 8th I had Webb in a commanding lead and had really thought Aaron had blown his chance to becoming British champion.

Credit both fighters on a fantastic fight. Best fight since Rhodes vs Moore? Lets see it again in a few months.

Definitely up there, not quite Rhodes vs Moore in the drama stakes as that was a ding dong war of epic proportions, but still one of the better british title fights I've seen recently. Would be good to see it again definitely, a great clash of styles but if I was Arron I'd be looking for a nice voluntary before going back into a tough fight like that, even though he did have the upper hand by the end.

A good fight. Webb is so fit and so brave and determined.

Arron's handspeed will probably stop him from going any further but credit to him.
