Silver Glove Nationals: Parram took two silver medals at the Silver Glove Nationals, in 1999 and 2000. In his first Junior Olympics, he won a Bronze medal. He lost to Abner Mares in the quarter finals in 2001, qualifying for another bronze medal.
National PAL: Fighting in the National PAL in 2002 semi-finals, he again lost to Mares in a close match, taking home another bronze.
National PAL Open Men’s League: In 2003, Parram fought in the National PAL Open Men’s League, against the best fighters in the country and Rasheem Jefferson beat him in a close decision.
Olympic Trials: In the Eastern Olympic Trials, 2004, at 119 lbs., Parram took home the Silver Medal at age 18. Kevin Hubbins beat him in that qualifying match.
At age 19, Parram won the National PAL Open Men’s League
Jamal Parram’s amateur record is approximately 176-24, winning nearly every local tournament.
