Amir Khan in Havana

Cuban newspaper Granma announces that Amir Khan arrives to Havana today, June 27th. Khan and other political and cultural personalities and specialized journalists are expected to arrive in Havana today on the maiden flight of Virgin Atlantic Airways, a British commercial airline that will start flying regularly to Havana in July 2005.

In Cuba, Khan will visites his friend Mario Kindelan. He is also expected in Matanzas city, where maybe a special spectator of the boxing tournament of the I ALBA Games.

So Mario Kindelan is still in Cuba then?

Puts pay to all that talk that he was payed to lose to Amir Khan so he could move to the UK and open a gym here.

Not that I believed it for a second.

That's a valid point, would probably be better served tuning his game in a Manchester gym right now, not jetting off to Havana.

Yesterday, in Havana, Amir Khan, 18, recognized the merits and expressed his admiration by the boxer more technician of Cuba and double Olympic champion Mario Kindelán, of whom said: "he is a legend".

HAVANA. English boxer Amir Khan hopes to receive the aid of the Cuban Olympic champion Mario Kindelán with views to conquer a world title in his professional career that will begin in July 16th.

"Mario Kindelán is the best one, he's a legend of the amateur boxing; I would like have got him in my team to advise to me. At the ring always I learned much of Mario; if he comes to England, simply I hope that he helps me because he is my friend", said Khan to the press yesterday.
