I've learnt the costly way not to underestimate Froch, but it really does look like he's up against it with Ward.

I'm still not a fan, but last night went a long way towards making up for recent foul-filled showings. Possibly due to the ref doing a pretty decent job of keeping the ugly stuff to a minimum.

I find it quite hard to imagine Froch making the kind of inroads vs Ward required to take over down the stretch. The problem Kessler and Abraham both had with that strategy was that they ended up far more battered and busted up by the second half than Ward was.

I could see Froch trying to outbox Ward and there being a bit of a clash of styles, quite possibly another very ugly fight.

Froch's awkward style might serve him well, but he needs momentum to build upon and he won't have that with Ward, it'll be a battle of jabs, short bursts of action interspersed between the clinches.

It's a bit early to be thinking about with Johnson in the way, but Froch should have enough to grind out a decision. (Edit: Against Johnson that is.)

If Froch beats Ward you can elevate him to God-status in the UK.

Not going to happen though.

I agree, if Froch beats Ward which I really hope he does then he can be elevated to top sportsman!

It is a shame Carl doesn't post on here, I find him hilarious!

Degale needs to borrow some one liners from him. God he is so boring calling Groves 'the ugly kid'. He is like a broken record and just looks like a d1 ck!

Ward was angry he couldn't maul his way through the fight.

"I really felt like he (the ref) could have let me fight on the inside. It was a major part of our gameplan tonight. Nobody likes it to the body, but Arthur really doesn't like it to the body." said Ward, before turning his attention to Carl Froch.

"I think it's perhaps inevitable that me and Froch have a showdown. He's been calling for it. I know the American fan's want it, the British fan's want it - and I think it will be an action packed fight."

AA's work rate the other night was roughly zero. The odd burst of slappy hooks and the odd wild swing, but not much more than that. Froch will fight with a LOT more intensity than he did, but I think Ward will be ok with that. One thing I'm not sure about is what happens if/when Froch plants a right on Ward's chin? It remains to be seen. I don't think AA landed flush, but to be fair Ward didn't allow him to.

Froch has potentially his toughest fight coming up against Johnson. It is by no means a formality. I would say it is a 50-50 bout.

I strongly favour Froch over Johnson but it'll be a good fight.

I give Froch absolutely no chance against Ward and in fact, I think fighting him is the worst thing he can do at this stage of his career. I don't see anybody beating Ward and a fight between them both would not be memorable.

I'd much rather see Froch in with Bute, Kessler, Pascal or even Pavlik as these are all fights he can win and could finish his career out on a high.

I give Froch a much better chance against Bute than I would against Ward, yet I think Bute would be a far more difficult for Ward than Froch would be.

Yes, it would not be be a great Sky Box Office debut at all. After all the build up, behind the ropes, etc, the last thing he needs is Ward stood opposite him in the ring. I expect him to get thoroughly outpointed and then the casuals will be wondering what all the fuss was about. It sounds harsh, but your average guy wont have a clue how good Ward is.

Bad mamma jamma has a very good point...frochs power will cause wards face inertia. Froch has whoah nellie type power. And jermaine taylor may have been damaged goods after pavlik but he was still imo a smoother boxer than ward is right now, the night jermaine fought froch......froch had his worst night in the ring that day and still his power carried him through.......the froch of today is a far more accomplished boxer puncher:.......i honestly think frochs best is still to come he will maul and man handle ward in the manner honeyghan did to curry.......and ward is definetly no curry......

Froch has woah Nellie power? Hmm no not really, not at world class level. Haven't his last 5 fights gone to the 12th round or decisions? The only guy he stopped was a faded Taylor and that was with seconds remaining (in a fight he was about to lose)..

Froch has solid power, but at this level, it's not devastating. Against second tier fighters, sure it's devastating. Surely Froch will not knock out Johnson or Ward tho I think he nicks a
decision over Johnson.

If he beats Ward, that's a woah Nellie win. Not expecting that to
happen.

Faded Taylor was a better boxer at that moment than Ward is today? Are you mental? First of all, that is BS. Secondly, Ward is a much better infighter than Taylor, and from what we've seen Froch isn't a fan of infighting. Also, Ward has
big balls and has determination in spades. He's a tough dude. All traits that version of Taylor didn't have.

Consider this, before Abraham knocked Taylor out in the 12th, Abraham was on his way to a pts win vs Taylor (and this was 1 fight after Froch). ABRAHAM WAS OUTBOXING TAYLOR. Enough said. no im not mental but i do think your overcome by hysteria and unable to post coherently and with some manners.

Jermaine taylor wasnt exactly "faded" back than if frochs whoah nellie power hadnt rescued him in the last minute of the last round we would all be saying what a great win it was for taylor and hed have been looking to a third superfight with pavlik. What a newbie tool like you doesnt realise is, power isnt just reflected in the one punch knockouts which u seem so anxious for as proof of power, but such power can also be shown by the way it makes world classfoes be taken out of their game plan. Frochs power made dirrel hesitant, it made abraham go into a shell,it made jean pascal think twice and it kayoed taylor cold. Hindsight is a great thing, but we can agree to disagree and in time i am confident i will be proved right.

Thats all im saying
