Bleurgh, another WBO sham title fight. Are there any British fighters who are not currently 'WBO interim' champs? And if so, can the WBO supply them with an interim belt immediately? James Degale is already no4 in the WBO rankings despite having beaten nobody so presumably is well on his way to an interim belt and a 'mega fight' against Robert Stieglitz, instead of wasting time meddling with the likes of Bute, Froch and Ward. Who are they, anyway?

Are you lot excited by Cleverly/Brahmer? He lost to MARIO VEIT, besides Garay, before finding the more bum-friendly WBO pastures. Get ready for a string of Enzo Maccarinelli, Herbie Hide, Joe Calzaghe style defences. Mass synchronised yawn everybody?

Is it a world title ? I hadn't noticed...interim...vacant....whatever.

It is a decent fight though. Prospect Cleverly is taking on a real hard nut here ( with the emphasis on nut ) Brahmer has always had very heavy hands ( KO 1 Hatton in the ams ) and he's got bags more experience than Cleverly - for instance, he's tougher than a lot of Joe's early WBO opponents.

Of course, I'm not looking forward to a load of WBO dud defences from the Welshman either, if he wins, but this is a stand alone very good fight. It'll be a 12 round war, both will be hurt, but I think the Welshman's much the fresher, and possibly has more desire at this stage - he'll come through a brutal 12 rounder.

Couldn't agree more.

Clev is a quality fighter with a great attitude, and the danger is his promoter takes the soft option if he wins the belt.

I hope not.

I see him winning a war on points because he has a tendency to get dragged into a dust-up rather than using his skills and jab.
