How many people do you think used to watch Hamed in the hope that he would get "badly knocked out"?
Just for the record, i said "I would hate to see anyone hurt" that would be horrible, BUT I LOVE BRUTAL Ko's,(and I bet most on here do also)
I guess I must be nmore of the Michale Moorer type in that I love brutal horror movies and brutal ko's, of course one is acting and the other is real life but as long as no one gets hurts then its GREAT!

C'mon Ian, I love the artistic part of the game (countering and the like) but watching a fight without a great knockout is like turning a porno off before the money shot.

i dont think that you're turning into an old woman. Boxing fans don't like to see fighters get badly hurt. As game as Sam Webb was, for instance, i thought they should have stopped that fight 3 rounds early as the result was not in doubt at that point.

I'm happier to see great displays of technical boxing mixed with fighters heart , like, say the Froch vs Kessler fight.

If you like sheer brutality go and watch UFC. Not interested in that personally.

Kessler v Froch was brutal! but I see where you're coming from you don't want to see someone get beatdown continually round after round with no comeback but to most boxers a KO is like scoring goal of the year and it's a real achievement to get one at the higher end of the sport.

yep agreed. a spectacular KO is a special achievement, but there was something equally worrying as thrilling about the way, say, Pac floored Ricky H. I was there and whilst it was incredible for the next few minutes most people around were genuinely worried, but that was a one punch KO, like Martinez' against Williams - those things are incredible technically too, but watching what i would call a 'brutal' KO isn't what I pay my money for - i'd rather see 12 rounds of quality than someone just sparking someone else. Khan v Maidana was spectacular without anyone getting brutally KO'd - people get hurt in boxing, stunned, knocked over and when you see 2 fighters swimming in deep waters, refusing to lose, those are the most thrilling fights, not Khan getting flattened by Prescott haymakers after 30 seconds or Haye smashing Audley to pieces.

Fair enough mate, I agree on the quality aspect of a fight is the most important although Haye attacking Audley was a thankful respite to the boredom of the first two rounds!

I feel that Brook has no real substance and will be on the end of a harsh dose of reality once he steps up to the higher echelons.

Now back to my motivation, well to answer you directly yes in all truth I really love watching "brutal" Ko's, for example I particularly like Tim Witherspoon Vs Anders Eckland, and obviously Jackson v Graham.
I can see an Amir Khan v Prescot brutal KO coming the way of Brook.

Anyway WHO doesn't like watching "brutal" ko's? I mean don't we all love the beautiful violence that boxing gives us?
I never want to see any fighter hurt EVER in this sport but I LOVE watching someone getting KTFO, there's nothing better!

No Ian, it is you who are wrong, by stating "badly knocked out" there is a direct implication that I wanted to see Brook hurt. I love great ko's but not "bad" ko's.
For example I didn't like the Mercer ko of Morrison, that to me is a bad ko.
