Zavec has been the IBF champion for almost two years, so he isn't ranked by the WBA. These are the top 5 contenders according to the WBA.

1. Brad Solomon (US)
2. Mike Jones (US)
3. Leonard Bundu (ITA)
4. Diego Chavez (ARG)
5. Sebastian Lajun (ARG)

What do you think of him being placed at number 6, Ian?

We usually disagree on old Special K! :)

All boards are sh1te, end of. They're so compromised it's ludicrous.

If I could promise them a massive sanctioning fee for Martin 'The Pride of Wales' Williams, you would be engineered to a Penta-Continental shot in Rhyl via your number eight ranking by the end of the year

I'm already at number 4 with the STIS and third with the PYM matey

STIS - Shopping trolley in sea
PYM - pregnant young mum

Aaah, so proud of my hometown.... :)

Seriously though, six is daft.....he's done nothing to prove it but then he doesn't decide these things.

A BIG win over Lovemore followed by a top 10 ten fighter and he will be worthy of the hype. I believe he has the ability, though I'm not as taken with him as most and still believe there should have been a Jennings rematch.

That said, good luck to the fella. We need the guys with potential - DeGale, Groves, Price, Brook, Quigg, Fury, Barker et al - to move into world class and fill the void left by Hatton and Calzaghe, soon to be followed by Froch and Haye

Does the fact he has been with FW speak volumes here? Not been tested as yet but commands a top 10 ranking. To be fair to Kell I think he has wanted the harder tests but they have not been provided in the past. I think FW moves people at a pace to suit his own schedule.

But dont the WBA have about 4 champions, so being ranked at No 6, is effectively like being ranked at 10 and then if you factor other champions at the weight who aren't ranked by WBA, he's probably about 15?

Which is about right.
