Hopkins v Pascal
Hopkins v Pascal
I know this should strictly go in the Current Scene section but much better posters post in this one so I'm putting it here.
Who do you all think wins this fight?
I've backed Hopkins heavily here. I think as long as he can stay on his feet here I don't see Pascal being able to avoid a fairly comprehensive points defeat. Hopkins is better technically, has masses more experience, has worked out a way to beat Pascal already (although the 1st fight was officially a draw) and surely any close decision goes Hopkins' way this time round given the controversy of last time.

What price did you get on B Hop?
I'm not comfortable backing him these days as i'm of the opinion that it's got to catch up with him at some point. Pascal should also be able to watch the video of the fight and pick up where he needs to improve and with the grief Hopkins has been giving him, he can't have any excuses for fading

I got 6/4 with Boylesports a few weeks ago but think he's now best priced 11/8 but still value.freddydoesdallas wrote:What price did you get on B Hop?

Re: Hopkins v Pascal
I see Hopkins picking up where he left up last time, Pascal looked mentally shattered! Hopkins completely outclassed him from round 5 onwards and Pascal knows that. I see Hopkins dominating him for 12 long rounds. Saying all that I am a big B-Hop fan

i Respect B HOP but hate him as a fighter his style bores the shit outta me..hope pascal comes hard and wins
Re: Hopkins v Pascal
i think pascal must have improved his stamina....if he fights the whole fight like he did the first 4 rounds last time then i can only see pascal winning.
workrate is the way to beat hopkins.

Re: Hopkins v Pascal
I wonder what will happen if the commision bring in Olympic style drugs testing, like they are threatening to.
Re: Hopkins v Pascal
B-Hop will be more cautious earlier on this time around. I can see him getting a UD or a late stoppage win over Pascal.
Re: Hopkins v Pascal
LOL at Pascal improving his stamina. This guy has apparently only seen him fight once or twice in his life. Every one of his fights is the same...which is: fast start while his legs are most under him, and a steady slowing in movement and punch output. If you dont know that Jean Pascal is an outside ambush fighter who only fights in spurts (b/c his gas tank stinks), then you dont know anything about the guy. He is NOT known for his workrate. Never has been. He was badly out-thrown and out-landed by Hopkins in the first fight. The only thing that saved him were the 2 flash knockdowns, 1 of which that shouldnt have counted (blatant rabbit punch)...Short of getting a couple knockdowns again, Pascal is going to get outpointed. He has no boxing brain. I've never seen him make an adjustment in a fight. He relies on his opponent to cooperate with his style, which means he doesnt want you to press him or dictate to him. Alot of guys fear his power so they let him circle the ring and do as he pleases - he wants you to fight defensive, b/c then he only has to work when he feels like it. Froch and Hopkins dictated the pace to him, they pressed him, made him uncomfortable - and you saw the results.
If Pascal wins this fight, I assure it wont be b/c his stamina improved, it wasnt as if he emptied his tank early in the first fight, he didnt throw any more than he usually does, it was just that Hopkins was making him work for longer stretches than he would like, and he got tired even quicker than usual. No, if Pascal wins it will be b/c he scored a couple KD's in the first 4 rds again. If the midway point of the fight comes and Hopkins has not hit the canvas yet....fight is as good as over and Hopkins will win a decision. Save this post.

LOL. That was all nonsense. The testing is exactly the same as the first fight, the Canadian commission confirmed this 2 days ago. You will only see OSDT in a Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquaio fight (which is why the fight wont happen). Something like that has to be negiotated and signed into the original fight contract.keithmoonhangover wrote:I wonder what will happen if the commision bring in Olympic style drugs testing, like they are threatening to.

Ian John Lewis was a complete farce. Idiot.
All you idiots who said Hopkins was boring have been shown wrong too.
