Tony Bellew - I WANT THE FIGHT!!! - Looking a bit silly now

Post by Black Sam Bellamy »

Lots of trash talking today for someone to then not make the weight.

Must have had a decent idea this afternoon it was looking dicey.

Is all publicity, good publicity ? A poor show if you ask me.

Disgraceful  I had cancelled my hotel when the German cancelled, then re-booked when Bellew mouthed off as I knew he was going to get KO. To come into the picture obviously knowing he was far too heavy and then wanting a CATCH WEIGHT is bang out of order. :shame: :shame:

Calling a World Champion a 'fcukin rat' when you can't even do the weight is pretty disrespectful.

Tony needs to beat someone in the top ten before I can think about taking him seriously again.

Only caught a bit of the presser earlier but i had my doubt when Bellew kept reiterating that he'd make the weight and it wouldnt be a problem but wasnt willing to say how much over the limit he was.

Looks a bit of a fool now after all his talk.

Tony mocking Cleverly but failing to turn up is a joke.

Not impressed Tony!

Maybe they should install a catchweight so Tony can make weight?

BBC reckons Warren considered that but decided against it.

Pathetic and solely designed to get publicity for Bellew in my opinion. Who on earth can take the guy seriously now after that!! Shambolic!!

That's that then. Tony shouldn't have said he could weight in the first place. Now we are left with a shambles of a title fight, I feel bad for Clev, he's been messed about all week.

Still, I don't see why a catchweight cannot be installed? Everyone would have much preferred a Clev - Bellew fight, since a fight with Aleksy Kuziemski is of no interest whatsoever.

What a farcical.

I have lost a lot of respect for Bellew in this, can only stand up to Cleverly because he knows they won't be fighting

Amazing that ppl even can believe this.

I have to disagree. I'm 100% sure that Bomber thought he would make the weight, and thought the Board would allow him to do it.

Anyone who thinks he's gone through this thinking otherwise, that he's just done it for the publicity or whatever, is way off the mark.

Only my opinion.

Ian if the rumours of 13 stone (182lb) are true then Bellew must have known good and well he could not drop 7lb in a day. Come on

No irony, you just have double standards, you can constantly stick up for your guy but I can't? Dont work like that but I agree it is best left.

What on earth were they thinking of calling a press conference when they must have known that the weight was a real issue? Why did Bellew say in the weigh in that he had passed all of the requirements that the BBBC needed for the weight when that clearly wasn't the case? This charade this afternoon would have prompted a fair few fans to buy tickets or at least the PPV when they otherwise would not have. Therefore even if this was not a publicity stunt it certainly led fans to splash out money which they would otherwise not have and that is a disgrace.

Bit harsh welsh boys. Are you pissed off you now have to watch Clev smash up a jam roll instead of a decent fight against Bomber?

Thing is, you haven't shut up since the fight was announced late yesterday. Lots of post about how Tony's gonna get KTFO and stuff.

Count how many posts I have made on this subject, then just look, just look how many posts you have.

Thats the irony. But I am bored of this now. Keep slaging him off as I am sure you will.

Weight loss is a weird thing mate - King G on here is the man to explain that. Even if he was a stone overweight a couple of days ago - or even yesterday - all I'm saying is I'm sure he believed in his own mind he could do it.

He's fu**ed up, for sure but I'd be amazed if there was any malice in it. I know you're mega pissed off mate, and I totally sympathise.

The replacement is a better fighter than Tony, 4 places higher in the rankings speaks volumes, what is annoying is a guy lying and calling a champ a "fukcing rat" knowing full well he would not be fighting at LH. Then trying to get Nathan to fight at a catch weight where as FW stated could have had Bellew 13lb heavier!! Really fair that

Ian, FW has openly stated that Tony told him he was only 4lb over the limit, this is clearly not the case, comes into the prees confrence like a mad man and then tries to get a catch weight. Sorry Pal that is not on :shame:
