So you're suggesting that a boxer contracted to fight on a different show that some people have bought tickets for and others will be planning to watch on the television should break contract in order to save another show somewhere else? Who then saves the show he was fighting on? And then who saves the show that the guy who saved the show that the guy who saved our show was originally on? And who then saves the show that the guy who saved the show that the guy who saved our show was originally on was originally on?
Financial compensation? You think that might work?

yeah but whether or not FW will actually stump up is surely part of the question's actual relevance to the real world

we can all play amateur promoter 'oh Alan Green surely if they chucked him 100k he'd turn up with a chance at the WBO'

as for 84 hours instead of 48, well I'm sure the extra 36 hours would be a great help for fighters to lose any extra weight, get transported across the globe, get over jetlag and so on.

that extra 36 hours suddenly makes the timeline completely feasible I can't believe i was so negative about the whole thing.
Oooh you're a moody sod. All of the four fighters I mention are fighting on the Froch bill next week so weight shouldn't be a big issue, all their matches are made at Light-Heavyweight but granted the jet-lag would kill them, so to speak. All of them have pedigree and renown of various levels. However had one of them landed Wednesday afternoon been close to weight. Would they have been more intriguing than #11 Polish fella?

Erdei might still even be on the continent?

Fool me once...

Bellew is an impulsive sort of guy. It's not surprising that he got caught up in the moment - a bit like many of you. He probably, naively, thought he could make the weight and, in his head, this could've been his moment to crack the big time. Boxing is only a hype business if you let the hype get to you. If you were up this afternoon and you're down now, don't blame Bellew; look in the mirror.

The new replacement is not a bad sub for Braehmer and he's known he already knew he was potentially in the picture so should have no dramas doing the weight.

So we get a one sided 'World Title' fight against a guy brought in to lose and its on PPV?

I thought Boxing was supposed to be competitive, especially at top level, especially when your asked to pay extra for it.

Oh well, you seem to be ok about it, so there is no point discussing it further. I expect more, best way I can put it.

PS You know SKY are billing this guy, on their website, as undefeated :D

heh sorry it was intended as humour

basically i just think the names you mentioned earlier were impossible from the off for reasons of time/distance/money/ the havoc that would be played with their preparations and chucking criticisms at FW for the quality of a last-week substitute seems a bit misguided 9as does quibbling over an extra 36 hours in all honesty).

and even *if* FW would be prepared to stump up for a Green type, a fighter with any kind of profile and future prospects is unlikely to go across the Atlantic on a whopping 84 hours notice IMO

Yeah last minute call ups. FW does tend to have a fair few of those.

Just sayin'.

Okay I'll give you 92:-) I'm not criticising Warren. Should have been able to nail down Bellew's weight earlier though.

Cleverly had the interim for the WBO, what are they supposed to do? Not go after him because he's pulled out before?
Yeah, he won that against a change of opponent, aswell. So just who has Nathan won his title against, interim or otherwise?

Dont you think its funny how many fights Warren runs get a change in opponents. I know it the nature of the business, to some extent. It seems to happen to him alot, probably why I went off his promotions a long time ago.

Got fed up with looking forward to watching a fight, only to get some nobody turn up, fight and lose badly.

You also run the risk of [the other guys] not being able to cut the tiny last few pounds, especially at short notice. God knows what sort of mental torture they'd go through sitting out a six-seven hour flight plus titting around in airports waiting while the smell of freshly "cooked" food wafts through their nostrils. It'd be like a fat menstrual woman unwrapping a bar of chocolate.

Is the WBO really a world title? in the crapness of the sanctioning bodies it's clearly the worst. allegedly wasn't really trying to fool anyone in the first place he matched him against Juergan Braemer, then allgood Tony Bellew good domestic match but not a 'world title' fight and now Aleksy Kuziemski??? I mean ffs everybody wanted cleverly to look good against - well anyone, because he's good to watch, you get to watch a superstar in the making! We all know the big one is Groves-Degale, Guess what - that's what we should be talking about. It's Eubank-Benn before they got to fight for world titles.
