GL: Earlier you mentioned the possibility of Hatton-Mayweather. Is that something you feel could done if HBO and Showtime were involved?

GL: So he thoroughly explained earlier today. But I also understand Showtime has the right to first and last on his next fight.

SOUNDS LIKE BOLLOX TO ME.

Ricky doesnt have a reaon to walk post the zoo match up and FW wouldnt want to lose his man after he has a big future ahead of him surely?

I think Hatton doesn´t want to lose his homebase. What kind of card wold Arum present in manchester? Could he promote a fight in Manchester? I doubt it.

Maybe Hatton signs with him only for american fights........? In England he needs Frankieboy.

It could be a misreading of words or it could be a mis-transcription. They have significant previous in the second one.

According to this interview the only way we'll ever see Mayweather-Hatton is if Hatton goes to Arrum - that gets round the Showtime issue and Big Uncle Frank protecting his fighters. So lets hope it happens. And Ricky doesn't need Frank, it can't be that hard for Arrum to get an undercard the quality of the usual tripe we get on Hatton undercards - he could work with Henessey for example

im gonna get slated for this but there is such a thing as loyalty.

RH wanted Zoo and Frank pulled out the stops to get him home advantage and the fight.

Say what you like about FW on some issues but on this one he did fantastically well, you should give credit where it is due and on this occasion i feel it is.

If FW doesnt deliver the fights RH wants then he can speak with whomever but personally i dont think Ricky is the type of lad just to go and hawk his wares wherever for now reason.

he will see what materialises first.

Seems to me everyone is quick to call warren names, and slow to give him any credit.

He did an exceellent job getting Zoo to Manc and with it every advantage Ricky could have wished for.

Allegedly had made his bed if Hatton walks it will be through his own doing. Yes he delivered Tszyu but only when Hatton forced his hand.

To be honest I'd take that with a pinch of salt if its on boxingtalk.

I would take what boxing talk says with a ladle full of salt, he's not the most careful when ensuring the veracity of comments listed there.

I find it hard to believe that Warren would have gotten Hatton a fight with Tszyu without first getting him to sign a committment to continuing to have him as promoter of record, that would be a bit amateurish.

The only way I can envisage Hatton leaving Warren, is if fights are offered in the states, and Warren doesn't make them happen, the likes of Mayweather won't be coming over unless it's for fornicating huge money.

Even then, if he's under contract, how on earth is it going to happen?

According to reliable sources, Ricky Haton and allegedly are out of contract.

This doesnt mean they will not renew.

The thing to remember with Ricky is that he is the one in the position of power.

Anyone who sells that many tickets can pretty much go where he please's - I've no idea what his current contract is with allegedly, but I would be surprised if it is anything other than a fight by fight deal.

All this business about Frank getting Hatton the Tszyu fight is rather moot. Frank had to deliver or Ricky would have walked, the fact that Frank did deliver says more about how valuable Hatton is to SN rather than Frank wanting to make that fight.

I posted on here last year that i was told Hatton's contract was up this summer but no one could confirm it at the time so i presumed it wasn't true.

Could be some confusion here. I think its Hattons (allegedlys) Sky contract thats out of contract and not his promotional contract. I could be wrong.

I would be really upset if he left Allegedly now.

Hatton is currently a promotional free agent. Pretty sure Bob is blowing hot air as usual, because you'd think Hatton is likely to resign with FW.

HBO are looming though - treated him well for the PBF broadcast by all accounts, pissing off Showtime in the process.

Hatton's options are clear. If he wants to keep making shedloads for fights at the MEN although not always against the top men stick with the status quo. (yes Allegedly delivered Tszyu but 1 swallow doesnt make a summer)

If he wants to fight the top boys Mayweather et al - (and improve his legacy) then sign with someone who has some clout over in the US.

I think he'd be fat better doing the latter, he has enough money now and he'll still make plenty if he fights across the pond.

And any US promoters could quite easily put a Hatton fight on at the MEN, the undercard for the Tszyu fight was shambolic anyone could put something better than that together.

Hatton should defo sign for Arum or HBO. They can get him the big fights.

I think Frank and Ricky view each other differently. I think Ricky genuinely does want to fight the best, whereas Frank just wants to use Ricky to make a quick buck and getting him TIMED victories instead of going in there with live opponents and fellow champions.

"But I talked with Hatton's people in Atlantic City and they're nice people, by the way, but they told me that they didn't want to go for a Mayweather just now. And I think they are looking more to go for a Miguel Cotto. Not now, but a couple of fights from now."

So no-one can say MAyweather doesn't want it. Personally I think the sooner the better for Hatton because I doubt he has more than three performances like the Tszyu one left in him.
