What are other people's opinions on this? No offence to Ed or anyone at sky but I thought it was over produced and cheesy. The voice over guy was ridiculous and the whole thing came off as a bit of a rip off 24/7 (I'm not a fan of that either). To much over the top drama.
Maybe this appeals to the masses and I am a grumpy git?

the voiceover bloke seems totally up his own arse and has the kind of gravitas and earnestness in his voice more suited to a state funeral than a boxing magazine.
it would be better if they had a bob hoskins type old geezer doing the voiceover.

I love behind the scenes shows in the lead up to fights, long may they continue.
I agree with what people are saying about the voice over guy, it's just too much. Would be great to see a bit more of the training camps too.
It's a shame they can't do a few more episodes for big fights but I can understand why they are not able to due to budget etc.

did enjoy it, but it was so heavily influenced stylistically by 24/7 to be almost embarassing - the pseudo-philosophical musings of the narrator in that voice were so HBO... Ringside has it's own style as a show and they could afford to put their own spin on the Behind The Ropes concept rather than just do what HBO do. Fightcamp 360 has a different feel on Showtime even though it's a similar thing and Sky could definitely find a way to give our big fight documentaries their own personality too.

I quite like the 24/7 shows, and so enjoyed it. Always interesting to see the boxers outside of a gym/fight night environment - even if you only really get to see what they/the program makers want to show you.
But it all adds to the atmosphere, sense of anticipation and excitement for me.
