JIMMY, OH JIMMY, OH JIMMY MAC, YOU'RE GONNA GET THE SACK

Love Jimmy but his tactics were poor tonight and Degale showed nothing but conditioning. He didn't use the jab, he didn't use the uppercut, he just followed Groves and didn't play to his strengths. allegedly weren't a happy man and think someone's going to be the 'fall guy' for this tonight.

Little jimmys little jig after degales wager will go down as one of the most embarrasing moments in british tv history like when richard madeley dressed up as ali g or when madeleys old wifes saggy tits spilled out and he tried to pretend it wasnt done on purpose

Frank said some of the cheer leaders will be gone, Groves made a reference that McDonnell was a cheer leader at the press conference.

Its a shame cause I really thought it was a good match. McDonnell is more known for his conditioning than his tactical nouse as a trainer, but I did think thats what James needed. He could get lazy in the Am's and he needed a bigger work rate.... looks like he needs other things also.

Warren sounded ominous.

"Maybe the back-slappers will clear off now. I couldn't believe he wasn't throwing things like the uppercut."

I heard allegedly on Youtube this morning like a boring old fart like Peggy friggin Mitchell going on about seeing who will be "guv'nor" of "the manor".....I thought you silly boring old fart.

And then taking playground style childish potshots at Georgie Groves , a man less than half his age who he was actually promoting a fight of. I thought FFS at least have some fcking respect!!!

I'm just real pleased for George Groves after getting told by certain people that he was a "moron" a "joke" an "ugly ginger kid" ,....and getting told (crudely) by some trainer who might have been better off focusing on his own man, that he should "pull out" and "f*ck James Degale...let him go.....concentrate on the British title"....

Well that 2 out of 2.....TWO OUT OF TWO if it's not clear enough.

Well done George.....got treat like a fcking bum and came up smelling of roses...Good lad George. He'd clean his clock next time! :box:

You'd have to agree with that.

Nice guy aside - what would have been the outcome if he trained Groves - and Booth trained Degale

Listening to the two corners between rounds the difference was stark.

Booth was clear, concise and articulate: communicating to his fighter in the clearest terms what he had to do in each round.

McDonnell was inarticulate, uninspiring and offered no clear direction.

Swap the corners and Degale would have won comfortably IMO.

BIGMARK wrote: i spent a lot of time around Jimmy's gym in Camden when he trained Hide and he is one hard task master who does know his stuff. Tonight i believed it was Degale not believing what was going on and Jimmy trying to encourage him rather than give him tactics.

Yes if Booth trained Degale he wins, Jimmy is your man for fitness
Could be that he is retained for that side of things and a more technical guy brought in.

''This could be all over in the first round''

''If James dosent knock him out, it will be all finished by the fourth anyway''

''George Groves Team should protect him and pull him out now. He is at least two years away from challenging James''

I said the only way George wins is if he gets James to come to him, which he did. Boxed well, could have either way but George is such a gutsy guy and he will get better.

Well done George. Might give James some things to ponder.

I think that Jimmy Mac got caught up in the hype and acted like a dick because he was around others acting like dicks. I can't remember him being loud mouthed or disrespectful when he was boxing and he let himself down a bit in the build up to this fight. I imagine he feels embarrassed and he may feel better if he apologised to Groves and his team for some of the remarks.

Yeah, I think that Watt is a poor scorer. Some of his picks on Saturday was bizarre. I got the impression that he was giving everything remotely close to Degale, and then realized half way through that it was actually a close fight and he had better even things up a little by giving a few to Groves.

McDonnell has made a complete Dildo out of himself....before, during and after.

He might be from boxing stock, as he himself said, but he got Groves all wrong. He underestimated Grove and Booth. As for DeGale, well he can blame who he wants but deep down he will know the score.

Totally agree. Booth is one of the best cornermen going, stays calm and offers perfect advice whereas McDonnell didn't seem to have control of the corner, he seemed unorganised and confused throughout

I don't think J.M is going anywhere, they seem to have a very good relationship.
I do agree though that expanding the team probably wouldn't be a bad idea.
