Narrowest Ever Win?

Post by whicker »

One for the historians.

Grove's win tonight was down to a single point on a single card (ie, had any of the judges scored just one round differently, then the fight would not have been a win.)

Is this the closest win ever?

(or, to put it differently and more simply- has their even been a fight where the winner won on just 2 scorecards, and on both by just a single point?)

Was there not like half a point between them in one of the Minter-Finnegan fights?

I had Degale winning by two rounds. Close fight, could've gone either way.

Our personal scores are not what the thread is about though.

i just had to say something, because since coming on the forum this morning nearly every topic is about how little degale LOST by, not much credit for groves around, alot of typical british fans around as expected, i just say, humble pie.

You must not have been around right after the fight. Within a period of about 10 minutes there was probably about 30 threads created slamming Degale, members of his team, or people that predicted that he would win.

Narrowest win has to be Cooper/Bugner? One round in it, one judge/ref scoring, fractional points back then for a round.
