will degale keep him bet to groves winner take all
degale had a side bet with groves winner takes both purse, will he keep his bet
Re: will degale keep him bet to groves winner take all
He should but he won't.
DeGale is a talented boxer. But he's a petulent arrogant prick outside of the ring. He doesn't give his opponents the proper credit and yet he is so willing to lap up the praise from Ringside.
He said "I'm a much different animal now" when asked about his 1st loss to Groves.
Hey James guess what? The joke's on you!!!!!!!!

Didn't the Board prevent the wager from standing?
Re: will degale keep him bet to groves winner take all
I heard Booth went to the board to get the bet off.

Yeah, when Booth cracked about letting Degale off the bet in the post-fight interview, it came off as a little dodgy I thought.Exoddus wrote:I heard Booth went to the board to get the bet off.

How much were they getting for the fight?
Re: will degale keep him bet to groves winner take all
Yes; I thought that Booth had sorted it so there couldn't be a wager. It must have been too tempting to stick the boot in though.charlieb wrote:Yeah, when Booth cracked about letting Degale off the bet in the post-fight interview, it came off as a little dodgy I thought.Exoddus wrote:I heard Booth went to the board to get the bet off.

I think Booth was just sticking the boot in a bit with his post fight comments on the bet, which he was perfectly entitled to do given Degales pre fight comments.
I thought Groves was incredibly humble in victory given the level of provocation he endured throughout the build up and that is a real credit to him. Not so sure Degale would have reacted the same way had he won.

Indeed, Groves and Booth came across really well after the fight. I thought it was a nice little dig by Booth with the letting him off the bet comment.SteveDow wrote:I think Booth was just sticking the boot in a bit with his post fight comments on the bet, which he was perfectly entitled to do given Degales pre fight comments.
