Anyone fancy Haye more now after last night?

Post by Finch »

I've always had a sneaky feeling Haye will beat Wlad, but after last night, I'm even more convinced that Booth and co. will have the perfect gameplan to beat Wlad.

I don't understand why people would be more confident now. Booth has trained Haye for most of his bouts, so he should have had "the perfect gameplan" all along.

Because quite frankly, he's the best british boxing trainer there is and a master tactician.

Fair shout. I'd still take Booth as the tactician.

We'll soon see is 6 weeks or so. :TU:

Maybe he wasn't great and I'm not suggesting he was, but what was great, were the tactics and the way Groves disciplined himself and applied and stuck to them for 12 rounds. His gameplan wasn't to be 'great'.

It wasn't his natrual game but stuck to a plan that worked. It did show a versitile aspect to his boxing. It is this that I was so impressed with with him last night.

Oh, and it was Groves' tactics that made DeGale look poor, for which Groves should receive credit for. Maybe it was a 'great' performance, but not great in the sense of a come forward, dominant, big punching display.

So? turns out Degale was the stronger of the two, Groves fought accordingly... did you expect him to allow Degale a free hit or something? He fought the fight he needed to, Degale didnt have the inventiveness or the backup in the corner to break his gameplan enough to win the fight.

Hurlock, if any boxer ever wants to do a rap record, they should definitely get you in as a lyrical consultant.

Gallagher does not have any world champions! John Murray and Macklin have looked shite lately as well.
