The fight wasn't exciting , but a win is a win. Give Frankie a break here, it was his first 12 rounder having never gone beyond 7 rounds before. Frankie had a chest problem , but still fought at a pace and followed instructions from the corner well.

After the McDonagh fight you said you were done with calling Frankie out, now he has a performance below his best and you're at it again. I hope it's not made because I think Frankie is ready to move up a level and to be honest, I don't think you've earned it.

gavin cant be facing low level operators or rusty drained fighters. he needs a rees, daws, cook, theopane, grant,to bring out his best.

Ill. Yes, ok, he was ill. Remember noone can use that one again when he gets flattened. This guy is the second coming of Alex Arthur!

MachoMan09 wrote:Curtis, with the greatest of respect, he's too good for you and you'd almost certainly get shown up. That's no slight on you, Gavin is an exceptional sporting talent. Even on a bad night, when he's ill, he can render decent domestic operators almost redundant. People are saying Muttley didn't do anything last night. The reason for that is similar to the reason why I wouldn't be able to do anything other than wave my arms around and err if I'd tried debating Burkhard Heim (RIP) on theoretical physics.
Yes Muttley was well out of his depth but he weren't brought in from Timbuktoo. He knew just how good Frankie is before he signed. He is not the same boxer he was 3 or 4 years ago but he just went on the back foot and did very little to try to win. Some of Gavins' work was very good; he didn't look spectacular but Nigel Benn (on the way up) and Naseem Hamed apart who have been spectacular all the time?

Trouble is, Gavin is never spectacular and is about as marketable as a leg of prosciutto in Golders' Green.

Since everyone is saying how he has the potential to reach the top, I guess I'll have to judge him next when he steps in with a world class fighter, so you'll all be glad to know I shouldn't be discussing him for some time, if ever

There's nothing wrong with wanting a bout. If you feel that you'll do well. In all honesty, Frankie is very, very good but for my 2 penneth; if you're to give it a go and throw some punches you'd come out of it with credit.

I agree; Curtis, are you self managed/promoted? Not being sly but I always imagined that a manager did this sort of stuff + you'll want decent wages v Gavin. There were a couple of lads on another thread after boxing for free after a facebook disagreement a couple of weeks ago. Let the manager earn his dough and get you a decent payday.

Don't let any one tell you that you can't beat Gavin or deserve to be in the same ring as him. Every fighter can be beat with the right gameplan, whether your team has the knowledge to come up with a good enough plan or that you have the ability to implement it we'll have to wait and see.

This thread reminds me a bit like when Carl Dilks came on here saying he wanted to fight the best Brirs out there......and then he got a fight with DeGale so you never know, might Curtis Wood v Gavin soon
