Top 10 Dreamfights List

Post by AngryGoon38 »

Decided to jot down a top 10 dreamfight list recently, And They'll be more to come !
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Marvin Hagler vs Carlos Monzon (160)
2. Sugar Ray Robinson vs Bernard Hopkins (160)
3. Billy Conn vs Virgil Hill (175)
4. Roberto Duran vs Aaaron Pryor (140)
5. Willie Pep vs Naseem Hamed (126)
6. Sandy Saddler vs Salvador Sanchez (126)
7. Alexis Arguello vs Ken Buchanan (135)
8. Rocky Marciano vs James Toney (190)
9. Ezzard Charles vs Michael Spinks (175)
10. Michael Nunn vs Sergio Martinez (160)

Fight #1,i lean towards Monzon by a narrow 15 rd decision.
Fight #2,i lean towards Robinson by controversal Sd Win.
Fight #3,i'd have my money on Conn by decision.
Fight #4,Probably Duran by close decision.
Fight #5,I'd favor Pep by not so close decision. It'd be very close for the first 8-10 rounds though.
Fight #6, Would easily be one of the best and one of the ishardest to predict. I'll say Sanchez by 14th rd tko.
Fight #7, Allthough probably most would say Arguello,i have to lean towards Buchanan by relatively narrow decision. Arguello wasnt that great against awkward style boxers that werent too agressive.
Fight #8, This one would be awesome imo. Similiar size demensions. Both would be short, tough, rugged hard hitting cruiserweights going right at it from the opening bell. Mauling,Brawling and Slugging galore. This one is definately the hardest to predict. At this weight,Toney would be at his best imo,so not sure if he manages to stop Rocky on cuts by late rd tko or Rocky catches him somewhere along the way. Would the Suzie Q be a hard enough punch to stop the iron jawed Toney ? Who'd be tougher, especially down the stretch, might be the deciding factor.I slightly lean towards Rocky by SD.
Fight #9,I'm going to say Spinks by close decision.Great tactical chessmatch.
Fight #10, This one would have the devastating ending. VERY unlikely it goes the distance. Brutal KO by one or the other.

Going to keep it to fights with guys my lifetime…

1) Leonard – Hearns (at 154) – this is the first one that comes to mind
2) Pac – Whittaker – choose the weight class, with weigh-in times changes it’s hard to match certain fighters but these guys would overlap at some point
3) Hopkins – Toney (160)
4) Spinks – Jones (175)
5) Sanchez – Pedroza (126)
6) Hagler – McCallum (160)
7) Chavez – Nelson (130)
8) Curry - Mayweather (147)
9) Calzaghe – Nunn
10) Benn – Mugabi (160)

I love 8) and posters trying to avoid it just look petty...
