People are being financially ruined up and down the country every day of the week because of it. It's sad. However, I wish I was the person who dreamt up Betfair. Taking x percent of every single mug punter's losses, in every race or event that's run, is genius.

Re: Gambling
I have a bet now and then. Accies usually, I had a 13-fold which would have won me 32'000 off a quid, all football matches... the monday night game fcuked me! Thats the closest I ever got to proper money, although I had a tri-cast come in at the dogs for 240 once.
I had a tenner on groves, gavin and cleverly all by KO last night worked out 6/1 on a patent, but obviously that didnt come in. Next foray I have will probably be something similar, one card, or one nights worth of boxing.

Fair enough, but he still couldn't claim anything! Chris Huhne has been accused by two Councillors in his constituency of fiddling the exes... also in trouble over messing about over driving offences.jameswilson wrote:I was aware of that, but there haven't been any recent MP sleazes that stick in my mind.@matt___s wrote:Mr Current Affairs! I've learnt that lesson a few times myself mate! My issues there is not placing bets I wouldn't otherwise place but more putting a lot more money on than I otherwise would have! Stopped doing it now though!Andypittcov wrote:Yes all good rules stevedow but he forgot to tell you one of the most important: never bet when you've had a skinful.

I love the physcology of boxing and its much easier to pick a winner when both fighters are in the public eye. I've back groves to win that all along. He always seemed 100% sure he was going to win where at times I got the feeling James knew he would win IF Groves came to rumble. As soon as that didn't happen all bets were off as they say. I think my biggest win was Lennox Lewis v's Oliver McCall as a massive Lewis fan I went against my heart and chucked 25.00 on McCall to win in the second round.
Although your never hear me talk about the money I lost![[icon_wink.gif] ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif)
