A Weird Boxing related story/Murdered boxer?(1946)

Post by Brutu »

In September 1946 ,a bulldozer grading a cinder road in a wooded area for a new housing development along Marlboro road in New Kensington Pennsylvania
uncovered a shallow grave containing a bullet ridden skeleton of an individual who was believed to have been
an-ex-boxer who mysteriously disappeared some 9 years earlier from Youngstown Ohio.

The Jungle Inn (where Jimmy Muche was last seen in 1937)was once a notorious but posh, illegal roadhouse and gambling casino just outside of Youngstown in Trumbull County Ohio.
It previously was a brothel and opened during the 1930's until it was closed down in 1949.
Reportedly the Jungle Inn was operated by Cleveland mob boss Moe Dalitz.
Dean Martin once worked there as a dealer, roulette stickman, coupier.

The Youngstown Ohio area sure sounded like a tough town(for 1945 America anyway).

Has Boxrec listed Jimmy Muche under "murdered boxers" yet?
Most likely its him,and I doubt he had shot his ownself multiple times and then buried himself in a shallow grave.

If Jimmy Muche is still around, then he must be at least 110 years old by now.
I dont know if any DNA tests would clear this up at this point.
Maybe someone here at boxrec should just close the case.

speaking of Ohio, has any new info appeared regarding this unsolved boxing mystery ?
Jimmy Muche had 24 professional fights between 1921-1930.
