Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
Any of you looking forward to this one? I am really pumped for this. I know alot of people got off the bandwagon but Mitchell is one of the greatest potential at 135..
Who do you like in this one?

Murray will be too strong and relentless. He wont blow Mitchell out, like Katsides did, but he will ground him down for a late stoppage.

The Katsidis loss will be hard for Mitchell to shake off. As stupid as it may sound, he is one of those fighters who doesn't have a comfortable weight class - slightly too small for lightweight and probably can't make 130 comfortably anymore. Murray didn't impress last time out but I'd fancy him to stop Mitchell late on.

Murray - Get your house on it! I will eat my laptop if he doesn't win.
I'd fancy Crolla to do Mitchell.

Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
I think Murray will wear him down and force a late stoppage anytime after the 9th
Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
When the fight was originally scheduled the odds came out with Murray the outsider at 2.1 and I lumped big time. Due to the cancellation I was refunded and now the odds on Murray sit at 1.65.........annoying.
Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
Must be something to do with Murray's performance in his last fight. ...... Or Mitchell doing the 'slit throat' gestures to Murray the other nightBillyTKid wrote:When the fight was originally scheduled the odds came out with Murray the outsider at 2.1 and I lumped big time. I've always liked Mitchell in this one, but I think with the layoff and the issues being raised about his private life I think the timing is spot on for Murray.

i like mitchell in this on points.
he outboxed prescott whenhe was focused and he will outbox murray who is slower less rangy and hits slight less hard than prescott.
murray however when on form works teh body well, but i am certain mitchell will be ready for him and i will bet large on mitchell.

Murray by late stoppage, never been particularly impressed with Mitchell. Won a shed load when Katsidis stopped him

I like Murray and I'm a fan of his style. But my money will going on Mitchell. Murray struggled with Lee McAllister and was getting outboxed at times by Lee. If Mitchell brings his "A-Game" I give him a great chance at the upset.

He can be easily outboxed. I thought Lee Mac was ahead in that fight before he crumbled from Murrays attack. If Mitchells back to his best he could have a chance but Murray has a point to prove after his last outing.
Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
Personally I dont see a Mitchell win as an upset. The Mitchell who boxed Prescott wins this without a doubt, infact in most of his fights he's shown he would beat Murray. Murray tends to stand flat footed and seems always there to be hit, just look at his last fight. Yes Murray is tough but doesn't use his advantages, he basically crouched down to his last opponents level head on head and made hard work of it coming away bruised up, getting hit far to often. Can he change his game plan like say Mitchell did against Prescott ? Yes, Katsidis may have took Mitchell apart but then its a good possability that Katsidis would do the same to Murray so people shouldn't go by Mitchell's last fight.
Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
i thought lee mac won 2 rds at most, though it was tense and competitive. the scottish fighter had to pay for any success he had, because he was fighting at an uncomfortable pace and getting worn down - which is exactly what i expect murray to do to mitchell, to slowly break him down. i enjoyed that fight, as murray proved he could beat a mobile boxer.ShadrachSimmo wrote:He can be easily outboxed. Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
I have always strongly favoured Mitchell over Murray.
Even with the Katsidis fight in mind I think Kevin has the skills and ability to beat Murray quite comfortably, providing his head isin the right place for both training camp and fight night.

Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
I'd favour Murray, but i'm not high on him like some are. He's slow footed and doesn't have great power. I'm not high on Mitchell either, but I could see him outboxing Murray similar to the way he beat Prescott.

Macallister looked as if he the tools to beat Murray. Lots of movement lots of angles Murray looked baffled at times but in the end Macallister stood in front of him and paid the price.Autobarn wrote:i thought lee mac won 2 rds at most, though it was tense and competitive. the scottish fighter had to pay for any success he had, because he was fighting at an uncomfortable pace and getting worn down - which is exactly what i expect murray to do to mitchell, to slowly break him down. i enjoyed that fight, as murray proved he could beat a mobile boxer.ShadrachSimmo wrote:He can be easily outboxed. Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
I agree; Mitchell got beat but not wrecked by Katsidis. He's had time to get together and in shape. Murray didn't look anyway near world class last time out. I think he really struggles for weight and Mitchell is not a light puncher. If Kevin is fit and wants it he will box Johns ears off; I'm not sure Murray will lay one on his jaw. I'm looking forward to it but it is not PPV.ArtOfWar wrote:I'd favour Murray, but i'm not high on him like some are. He's slow footed and doesn't have great power. Re: Kevin Mitchell VS John Murray
I agree also. Murray is fit , hard and strong but lacks boxing ability. Mitchel has better boxing and can out box the tough but basic and not world class Murray. I will not be robbed by low level PPV bullshit.simon fox wrote:I agree; Mitchell got beat but not wrecked by Katsidis. He's had time to get together and in shape.
