PPV... a rough guide

just out of interest, and part of like a mini survey. we are all boxing fans and each and everyone of us thought the bill last weekend was very poor for a ppv event...

so, enter the poll below, and state how you watched it, if you did.

I bought the SKY PPV;

I didn't buy the Primetime Khan bout and will buy the forthcoming Haye v Wlad PPV.

After that I am going to cut it back; I think I'm encouraging them (like voting encourages the MPs).

only have one optionout here...i would pay for fights i want to watch butthey dont sdhwo them here os i have to downlaod after the event or stream.

I would not do this if i had access to the boxing on tv.

I didnt watch it at all. I point blank refused to pay for this bill,same as I will for Chisora/Fury if its ppv. I couldn't stream it either as my internet is shockingly bad at the mo.

I will definately be paying out for Haye/Klit though!

already we are seeing a pattern developing, people are watching the event but not by the promoters desired route, therefore the promoter must improve the package.

i am not doubting for one minute that the picture etc on ppv is better than the best internet stream...but

there should be no adverts.......and

the whole bill should be decent enough to be shown in its entirety.

i selected the first option but it wasnt entirely accurate , i watched it at my brothers house and we paid half each for the ppv as we wanted to see degale/groves but didnt want to pay £15 , but £7.50 seemed more reasonable

I don't agree with PPV for ANY fight ,however ,I think the threshold was met with Hatton's fights with Mayweather and Pacquaio. This was Britains most famous boxer since Henry Cooper against 2 of the best boxers in the world. How does this compare with DeGale v Groves , Khan v McCloskey ,Haye v Harrison ,last Septembers Big Birmngham bill ( I don't remember one fight now!).
Many years ago SKY floated the idea of having the big Premiership games on PPV. This quickly died a death. Why?
Because there was such an outcry from millions of subsribers who threatened to cancel their monthly fees that they quickly forgot that idea !!
They know that'll not happen with boxing fans. So the bottom line is that PPV is simply pure greed by those who control the programming . What now happens is that each fight bill they show ,which is NOT PPV, the financial people consider that they are working at a loss.
PPV is going to increase in frequency ,because SKY simply can't go back . I predict that the more PPV they show ,the less people will watch ,until SKY abandon covering boxing all together . PPV will kill boxing's 'golden goose ' .

Rather pay for that fight than not see it ... Wouldn't have happened otherwise

as pc's get better and processors get faster, more and more people will be 'streaming'...especially as with aHDMI cable you can watch the fight on your tv with a huge screen.

when Groves won.....FW's eyes were also 'streaming' .. !!! ....

The promoters have to do something, and quick, to stop the flow of people over to the stream!!

Was originally going to buy it if Braehmer turned up and had arranged for a few mates to come round for it. Ended up getting a ticket to see Derren Brown instead and didn't see any of the fight. Had a cracking night though
