Two past boxers from Akron, Ohio have passed away in the recent past.
Frank Favaro fought as a lightheavyweight although the records lists
him as a heavyweight. Frank passed away 6-04-04. His year of birth was
1931.
Fate Davis who fought as a welterweight passed away 6-19-05. He was
born 5-23-38. Fate's claim to fame(?) was a knockout defeat by Hurric-
ane Carter thereby ending a long win streak and pretty much put a
damper on his career.
Both were crowd pleasers and enjoyed much popularity.
