Now ive had a spat on here of sorts with curtis before over the karl Chiverton issue , but in this instance im behind him and feel no reason why he shouldnt get the fight , do i believe he can win ? i cant see it to be honest , but Frankie if you want to come over to the fans as someone they want to watch you need to stop with the petulant comments otherwise youll end up being one of those that people tune in just to watch in hope you get knocked out , now im not saying thats the case , but something to be aware of , to be a star in boxing it takes more than being able to actually box !!!!!!

Curtis has in the past called Frankie loads of childish names, the sort of thing De Gale was saying to Groves but in De Gales case, he was slated for it. Not many here had a problem with Curtis doing it though. Then, without actually doing anything which would further his position in the sport, Curtis is using a below-par performance from Frankie to bolster his own career.

Frankie responds and makes a dig back to someone who he (correctly imo) feels is levels below him and has done nothing but talk, and suddenly he's the bad guy. Come off it lads. Takes two to tango, and if you know the history between these two you'll know that Curtis was first to get personal.

I haven't seen the fight and don't intend to, it was poor match to start with and SN need to start matching Gavin more competively or the fans will start to backlash.

Can't say I'm too keen on seeing Gavin-Woodhouse. Whatever this international belt that's just been obtained means sweet FA. I'd still really like to see Gavin in with Theophane next. Lenny Daws or Steve Williams should also be on the horizon....all three of these guys will come to win and this is what the fans want to see IMO.

I'd like to see Gavin vs Theophane at some point but if I were Theophane now I'd play hardball and demand the same money that Gavin is getting.

Until Frankie is made mandatory for the title, Ashley isn't under any obligation to fight him, and apparently intends to face the winner of the upcoming eliminator.... he's the one with the title, and the world ranking.

If Frankie chooses to go a different route as a result fair enough, but fighters and promoters shouldn't be allowed to throw money around and buy the British title.

It's certainly not the fight I'd have picked now for Frankie but it sounds like it's all fixed up now, so what the heck. Frankie wins comfortably in 5 or 6 and then hopefully moves up a level or two. I don't think that it is just 'young Warren fighters'; we live in a culture where importance, talent and success is measured in terms of money. Young boxers are not to blamed or castigated for the culture they grow up in. Older, wiser and better educated people are marinated in the same beliefs.

Yes; I agree, in the scheme of things it is 'sad and pathetic' and I feel that you were lucky to be brought up in an environment where other issues and factors were seen as laudable and creditable. My parents had similar scruples and morals and I did not take them on board; though I do not see it as my business what they have and they are pleased I do not need bailing out every week.

Some people are brought up dog rough with little guidance and live pretty basic and on the edge of financial disaster. When those people do get a few quid and are more financially secure, it is understandable that they would like attention drawn to their success. It puts emotional distance between an uncomfortable time and where they are now.
