Amir Khan against Danny Williams

Looks like there throwing him in the deep end

Amir switches to champs’ gym to train for debut pro fight

BRITAIN'S top boxing hope Amir Khan has switched to a championship winning gym in preparation for his professional debut against Danny Williams in Bolton.
The Olympic boxing hero is hard at work at Oliver's Gym in Pendleton, Salford under the keen eye of his new trainer Oliver Harrison.

Promoter allegedly backed the move to Oliver's because of its reputation for producing winners.

World champion Anthoy Farnell, who recently won back his title, trains there as does former British and Commonwealth light middle-weight champion Jamie Moore.

Khan's father Shah also approves.

He said: "He is young so Oliver feels comfortable with him. It's also quite near home which is an important factor too.

"It's just a case of staying sharp and getting in peak condition ahead of his next fight in July."

Harrison also said he was enjoying working with the 18-year-old from Bolton.
"Warren has been in the game for many years and he's not daft.

"He's done his homework and there's no way he would give away gold like Amir to just anyone. That makes me very proud."

Bringing him on too fast could be one mistake! Working with guys like Harrison too soon as well and making out he's that good when he ain't even fought his pro debut yet!

How tall is Amir? I know Skelton and Williams are heavyweights but jesus he looks small in height next to them!

Whoops I thought it meant he was sparring with Scott Harrison.

Turning him into another Naz might be another one too.

Williams is only around 6 foot 2, 3 ish

Khan could fit into one of Williams' trouser legs.

This article is symptomatic of coverage of the sport being driven by the man not the sport. I'm trying hard not to say anything that could be construed as racist here. Khan is going to be the benefactor of a vastly-multiplied Jav Khaliq-factor.

Judging by his suit, Williams might have dropped some weight. Either that or High & Mighty didnt have his size.
