Just a simple question to my fellow Boxrec forum users - Do you think that Lennox Lewis will ever be tempted to come out of retirement and if so, what will it take to tempt him???

No, he won't. I can't see anything that would tempt him to come back. What does he have to prove? And he surely doesn't need the money.

Vitali has tried to goad him out of retirement, for whatever reason, and that's the best chance anyone has of getting him to come back. He's done the sensible thing by saying 'no' and retired on top.

No I don't think he will, his Mom won't let him and hes got too much sense anyway

Christ, I hope he wouldn't be tempted. That tournament is one of the more horrible ideas I've ever heard of. And Lewis would win easily. I'd like to think he'd have the class to realise that he didn't need to earn money by fighting corpses for cash.

He has said the figure which would tempt him - 50 million. Was he saying this though cause he knows it will never be offered.

Yeah, but if he gets to fight Bowe it would make sense. Perhpas throw in Foreman and Moorer too.
Sure he will win easiyl and it wont change anything, but would give him the satisfaction of having beaten all the main fighters of his era.

Bowe avoided him and Moorer was stopped by Foreman. So Lewis didnt have a chance to fight Moorer either, though Moorer did not dodge him.

IF he were to fight Vitali now he would probably lose, but that doesnt change the fact that an out of shpe old Lewis already TKOED the prime young Vitali. So such a fight wouldnt be interesting for Lewis.
But who knows, he may just want to stop Vitali for good, but may be too late for that. Then again with so many injuries and lay offs, Vitali may not be as tough as we think.

I think Lewis would know that coming back as a 40 year old, to beat the shells of Riddick Bowe and Michael Moorer would mean nothing at all. Billy Zumbrun nearly beat Bowe recently! He must also know that he got a little warning against Klitschko that Father Time was onto him.

Probably the best thing that happened to Lennox was having the child shortly after he retired, probably filled the void for him.

I really hope Lewis decides to stay retired & never gets in the ring again, he said when he retired that he was finished & i see Lewis as a man of his word, if he did come back i would lose a hell of alot of a respect for the man, which i dont want to happen cos i think Lewis is a hell of a boxer and seems a brill bloke

Years ago he had his autobiog published by Faber and did a signing at Books ETC in Victoria st.

I knew the manager so got to hang out with him while he was there ( around 1990, I think )

He was a very witty, erudite and charming guy. I had not been a fan of his until meeting him, but he was a class act

Still have the signed book somewhere.

can't see him coming back. Doesn't need the money as far as I can tell
