Gumshield advice

I've got one of those Opro ones from Boxfit. I did the CD that came with it, all seems fine, but it feels like it goes really far down the sides of my mouth, has it moulded wrong or do i just need to get used to it?

Most dentists will do it. It costs around 50 quid but its probably the best investment youll make if you want to do boxing or rugby

They do it all. You go to the dentist, bite into a mould (that tastes minging) and then they send off the mould and a gumshield is made in whatever colour you request - I've always had my name inserted into the inside of mine as well. It typically takes around 7-10 days for the gumshield to be ready to collect.

I always used the cheap 2 quid ones from the sports shop. They are typically big and thick and help you absorb a shot better than those thin made to measure things

I'd say the fit is the most important thing. If you can get a cheap one that is the right size and moulds properly so it stays in place when you open you mouth (not that you should be opening your mouth if someone is throwing punches at it of course) it should be fine.
Otherwise it would be a good idea to get a dentist fitted one which will fit perfectly.

i wore my am gumshield inmy pro fight s hey allthe sameunless you get them made for your mouth but since iv had new teeth my old 1 s were hard to follow even the dentist had hard work so use to use the normal sports wear one then got onemade with my new teeth they the same simple as that i heard there was somewhat made you hit harder my arse

I've just had an Opro Custom mouthguard and am really impresed. Would definitely recommend it - even my goofy incisors feel pretty secure. Check out the Opro web-site.

I've used Opro Gold before which was pretty good. Also tried a cheap & nasty one and found it to offer very little protection.

please take note of this for your own good. All these opro shields & stuff ain't worth a rub. I've had two teeth knocked out & without my dentures , look a bloody smack head. Get yourself down the dentists for a good un. Best dough you ever spent .
