Poor Sky Card Tonight
Main even Jamie McDonnell v Nick Otieno, not a great deal else of interest on the bill - hardly a "crackling bonanza" this week.
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
Looking forward to seeing how Eric Ocheing gets on tonight against Cameron tbh, seen him at a small hall show and he was very impressive! Good Luck Eagle!!

On a hiding to nothing anyway tonight, Champions League fever. That goes into extra time, predict the lowest SFN figure of the year. Might explain the card.
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
Wright V Smedley is a decent fight!
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
Glad they have got some boxing on. Would have been easy for Sky to have an off week with the CL final on.
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
I think Smedley is perhaps doing better than the commentators on Sky suggest- Wright probably ahead, but not toatally in control. I'd give this round (6) to Smedley.

Here comes the hometown decision.

I was wrong.
Wright's a decent fighter to be fair

Didn't realise that Stephane Jamoye got knocked out in his last fight, this is the guy that gave Jamie McDonnell all he could handle in January.
Leo Santa Cruz beat him with a body shot.

Definately a poor card, Jamie McDonnell vs the little guy from Diff'rent Strokes as the main event??? What's that all about. I thought he died.

Typical Maloney card.
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
Did Frank Maloney just really say Stu Hall vs McDonnell will get the fan's more excited than Degale versus Groves ?
He'll be telling us Tom Dallas wants the winner of Haye vs Klitschko next.

I think Frank probably regrets that statement. It just sounded ludicrous.

You have to remember with SKY - in order to watch a decent bill you have to pay £14.95 on top of your subscription...no wait!!! You don't event get a good bill then....

Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
A. Good learning fight for nicki against an experienced and decent fighter, nickis first ten rounder so he didn't know how it would be, but he finished the stronger, hit wright with all the eye catchin shots, hurt wright and came oiut without a mark on his face as wright was busy but never landed clean, he took a lot from that fight ,if it had been 12 round hed av prob stopped wright ,he knows he's got to be buusier , but well done to wright .but nicki will be back and at lightweight
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
Bit harsh. Since January this year, Maloney has delivered....Terrrrry wrote:Typical Maloney card.
McDonnell v Jamoye / Johannesson v Watson
Booth v Arthur / David Price / Tom Dallas
Sykes v Johanneson / Groves v Allotey
Hall v Donnelly / Karl Place
Simpson v Smith / David Price
Webb v Arron / Tom Dallas
McDonnell v Otieno
When you compare that output with Mr Warrens from the same period (on normal sky)
Olubamiwo v McDermott/Gavin v Lomax
Burns v Laryea / James DeGale
Murray v El Ouazghari / BJ Saunders
Maloney may not be delivering household names but his headlines are consistently competitive and, with probably the top 3 british fights of the year to date, consistently entertaining. I'm certainly looking forward to Maloneys Price v McDermott a lot more than I am keen to see Warrens Burns v Cook.
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
Yeah to be fair your right about Price v McDermott being more interesting than Burns v Cook, a fight nobody seems to be interested in at all.earsjohn wrote:

Sykes v Johanneson bill was a Matchroom bill. One of the best small hall bills I have been to TBH.earsjohn wrote:Bit harsh. Since January this year, Maloney has delivered....Terrrrry wrote:Typical Maloney card.

I didnt think considering a lot of the bills recently that this was bad. I though Wright v Smedley & Cameron v Ochieng where pretty even money fights.
Re: Poor Sky Card Tonight
I just find everything about Maloney's shows a bit two bob. Most of the fighters, the supposed 'prospects' and not to mention Gary Logan!earsjohn wrote:Bit harsh. Since January this year, Maloney has delivered....Terrrrry wrote:Typical Maloney card.

At least FW's fighters are going places. Maloney's stable is poor these days, mainly full of glorified journeymen and prospects that are going nowhere.
