Micheal Katsidis vs Graham Earl II?

Post by franko1990 »

I understand that Kats deserves an easier fight for his home coming but surely not Earl. He is way past his best, and is risking permanent damage. So who do you guys think would be a good option for his home coming?

Earl's last fight was a win against human punching bag Karl Taylor (16-142-7) at welterweight nearly two years ago, following three KO losses.

This has to be a joke!

Earl shouldn't be allowed to fight against Katsidis.

Earl obviously wants a rematch, he hurt Katsidis in the first fight. I think it will be an entertaining few rounds that it lasts.

I can't see this being even remotely competitive. As Brute mentioned, Earl's last win was over a nobody two years ago and prior to that win Earl had been stopped three times in a row. Obviously losses to Katsidis and Khan are nothing to be ashamed about, but a first round stoppage loss to a British domestic level fighter like Henry Castle is pretty worrying.

I think Katsidis will win this early and in one-sided fashion.

..which probably would not be long. This would be a travesty.

I was listening to the sweet science, and Brendon said that Earl said, he won't retire until he fight katsidis again. Well there no such thing as a easy a fight. Regardless of each fighters form since, their last fight. It's a fight, they both have a chance, maybe katsidis has a bigger chance. If you have two hands and heart beat, you can knock someone out, and Earl had him down before. It's about time katsidis is in a fight, where his the favorite. I'll be watching hope many others are, and the event is a success, because katsidas deserves it

Like it or lump it, Katsidis ain't high profile boxer nor does he have sufficient home fan base to generate sufficient interest & $$$$ to make the fight happen on its own in Oz.
Undercard on Green or Mundine is the only option, which obviously ain't gonna put great deal of $$$ in their pocket

Graham Earl is, in the harsh language of boxing, finished.

His punch resistance is gone.

A fight with Katsidis at this point would be no different to this fight he had with the very average Henry Castle.

Thats true, but i don't think think Green or Mundine, would put it on their undercard. That would mean. They would actually have to pay some fighters to fight. Thats not heard of in Australia. Everyone in boxing is just interested in lining their own pockets. That's the problem with boxing.

Terrible match.I understand that Katsidis deserves an easy match, as he is consistently in hard fights against the worlds elite, but the only person Earl is going to hurt now is himself. He simply can't hold a shot anymore, and I think he could get badly hurt in this one.

Have a look at him vs Amir Khan and Henry Castle on Youtube.Shocking.Just shocking.
