We dont even sanction IBF title fights in Britain by the way and Charlie Giles is being wined and dined at Carls fight in Alantic City
We need to know if this is the reason licence fees are going up We are even going to ask if they flew out there first class or economy Ill guarentee it was first class Come on licence holders if you dont turn up You cant moan when the board screw us over See you all on the 15th Jane

Good call Jane, this really is something that needs to be highlighted. The Board will never be as bad as FIFA, but still as a self-appointed body it should be whiter than white and such things as Smith attending the IBF conference just don't sit right. If you don't deal with them, why go? And if you do end up dealing with them, people being people will assume that a nice trip to Vegas had something to do with it. Just not a very smart move by Smith.

Re Giles in Atlantic City, obviously there should be a Board representative at any fight abroad involving a Brit — and there isn't, for instance when Michael Sprott fights in Germany. They all pay licence fees to the Board, if one is worth representing abroad, they all are — or none of them are. It also makes a nonsense of the Board knocking back Mick Hennessy's proposed Spanish show — you can bet your arse they would have had a representative there to make sure things ran accordingly, so why they flat refused it, and with no reason offered according to Hennessy, becomes questionable.

A rise in the licence fee at this point in time, in a recession, is unrealistic. Increased operating costs is no excuse, the Board should just swallow that, like so many of us are. For instance, BM's operating costs rise and rise, but there's no way I'd consider raising the cover price in the middle of a recession. You just can't do that, you have to suffer the losses when the whole country is struggling (and the Board can afford to suffer those losses far more than BM can, believe me). Sky's taking Khan-McCloskey off PPV reflects this attitude.

I really hope that licence holders will attend this meeting in force and make their feelings known. Good luck Jane, I can be certain that you, for one, will let them have it. I just hope your fellow licence holders have your balls and stand up to be counted.

The BBBofC doesn't sanction IBF title fights? So Wlad would lose that belt if fighting in this country, or Cloud if he fought Cleverly here? You wouldn't be able to have an IBF title fight in Britain? Can someone explain how it works please.

Cheers Glyn just got to get them all there supporting it I fought abroad 34 times in my career paid 5% of my purse to the board and never had a representive there Actually im lying I did when Lennox Lewis fought Vitali in LA i was on the undercard fighting Riker They came to that one Funny that aint it

Booth v Molitor was only last year (9 months ago actually) its down to the promoters to put the fights on not the Board. IBF have been in this country for years since I thing when Glen McCrory was there champion probably even further. Clinton woods had many defences over here.

True and I'm sure there will be loads of IBF types in Hamburg for the Board representatives to talk to. But the Vegas jaunt seems a bit unnecessary in the current financial climate — it's one of those where I find myself asking whether they'd be bothering if the conference was being staged in Kazakhstan.
