What happened to that big lug Georgi Kandelaki? His pro record just peters out in 2003, still unbeaten. Anyone know? Maybe he went into modelling.....

Per Aake Persson reported this june 29th on http://www.knock-out.dk
"It´s nothing new but still deserves to be noticed that retired former WBU heavy champ George Kandelaki is the President of the federation in the Republic of Georgia."

He retired already? Okay he didn't look like a world-beater, but that seems a little excessive.

   Took me a while to realise, i take it to mean he's the president of the WBU in Georgia, not actually president of Georgia the State. Phew.

(whilst I'm adding an 'of' in here - Yes Hasketh (see below) it could probably be a straight head of the Georgian boxing org.)

Or president of the boxing federation maybe, rather than the WBU. Still, a bit of a surprise, I hesitate to say "disappointment" because he didn't look like the second coming of Ali. Thought he might have done a bit more at European level though, he looked strong enough to be another Sinan Samil Sam or similar.
