Yep Tarver was pretty upbeat about Froch, he seems really taken with Carl. I found Berstein a little annoying at times, he was over gushing for my liking... Tarver had it about right.

Commentary doesnt add a thing for me personally. Happily can watch fights on mute or

I dont like completely muted, I'd love to have the option (red button?) of different soundtracks - like just the mics in the venue so you dont lose the atmosphere, but can still watch the fight without subconciously being led to see the fight a certain way.

Its happened time and time again that Ive watched a fight subsequently and seen it slightly differently. I know thats about more than just the commentary, but the commentary does play a part,

You know, it might have been the fact that I'm smoking weed but... Just watching how Froch stalks Taylor down, hands down, throws punch after punch and takes a good shot on the chin from taylor, doesn't even shrug it off, just carries on fighting... Carl Froch is like, AMAZING, dude!

I really liked the US commentary on Hamed - Kelley. It went something along the lines of....

"The Prince has come here with a reputation of having power of his own, as yet we haven't seen any evidence of that."

Then Hamed knocked him down with the next punch.

"He says he has music in his head, I'm not sure I wanna hear it."

And at the end George Foreman shouting "He's for real, he's for real, the Prince is for real."

Yep that fight is the pinnacle of boxing commentating.

One of my favourite parts is the second round when Kelly drops naz at the start of the round.

Lampley: Well, the great thing going into this fight is you know anything could happen. And one of the things that could happen.. *Hamed touches down after Kelly hooks* IS THAT THE PRINCE IS EXPOSED AS A FRAUD!!!! HE TOUCHES DOWN AGAIN!"

I have said for years that SKY could save a fortune by doing away with our own pundit's in the Studio, who as far as I can see are only there to explain to the retarded how everything relates to Britain, or a British fighter.
All they need to do is just show the event, as a whole, as broadcast on Showtime, HBO or whatever, kinda like Setanta did in it's early days.
Sky don't have 1 single commentator or pundit worth a light.
Don't get me wrong, Sky have really upped their game when it comes to boxing and that is great, but I would really like to see them have a clearout, do some auditioning and instead of the tired old school cliche brigade get a new set of enthusiastic guys in to give it a "dawning of a new era" feel.

like i say i like watt nobody senses a shift in a fight like watt. i was angry at him for saying shane mosley had run out of ideas in the 3rd round of his fight with mayweather. i was thinking "stop being so negative and shouting murder when the murder is yet to take place".... but jimbo turned out to be spot on.

i agree with you on Watt, as it happens. all about taste and he works pretty well for me.
