Yep

I've been there. Area is OK, it's east of hollywood, not exactly Beverly Hills but there are much worse parts to LA. If you're going to LA, you need a car.

What do you want to know? Are you going to visit?

Cheers Finch. I'm staying 1.5 miles from there. Could you walk round there?

No problem walking round there. Not the sort of area I would hang out or go for dinner, but not dangerous. If in doubt get a cab. They would call you one from the gym.

I've been a couple of times. Considering it's Hollywood it's surprisingly run down but it's on a big major road with lots of traffic and people so no need to be nervous fella.

If you're taking your boxing kit and want to do a session let me know when and i'll tell one of the trainers i know there to expect you.

Thanks Shirow, very kind of you. Probably just have a look around the place, don't want to show myself up.

The place is packed with fitness boxers everyday so that shouldn't be a concern.

Can't believe i didn't think of this before - Streetview. In case you can't read the name it's above the landromat. Justin Fortune's gym isn't far away either.

Its not the prettiest but is on a very busy road, so you should be fine. It is an intimidating atmosphere at first, but then it should be!

Dude, don't think like that. First time i went there i shit myself, but everyone is treated the same. It's surprisingly quiet in the mornings and the trainers are happy to help, especcially Freddie's brother, Pep.

Freddie Roach is normally on the counter and used to do my handwraps up everyday. You'll be surprised how many on the morning visitors are as a previous poster said, fitness boxers.

You'll regret it if you don't have a work out there.

Finch has got a point. I'm off to the US next year with the wife and was planning to stick my head in watch a bit of sparring and be on my way. But now I'm thinking **** yeah train at the wildcard once in my life thats gotta be up there as a boxing fan.

It will be like turning back the clock and getting that nervous buzz like the first time you walked in to a boxing gym.

How much does it cost for a session there does anyone know? I bet i know i couldn't afford a 1to1 with Freddie lol

This thread is going to get me divorced cos I'm now thinking about places to train in Vegas and New York. Maybe I'll right a blog on it :box:

If you just want to use the bags and gym on your own it's about 5 bucks i think. If you want a coach for an hour then it can range from about $25 - $50 dollars. each coach is different and you negotiate with them individually.

Never asked about Freddie giving me an hour; was always too scared hahaa. Wish i had though, to say Freddie Roach trained me, even for an hour would have been something special.

Haha Gleasons is very open for fitness punters / boxing fans. I think it is $20 for a one off workout from memory. I was there when Viv Harris was training for the Ortiz fight, which of course didn't go too well for him

That's what I'm thinking. I just told the wife and she seemed ok with the idea :!: (but she was still half a sleep)

Said like a cross between Frankie Boyle and Jerry Sadowitz. Harsh but funny.
