A Card For The Ages

Post by hitman09 »

The quality product for Week 1 is clearly coming out of the joint efforts of Fatton Promotions and Glittermonkey. Two encounters for the ages lined up, as no fewer than FOUR world champions line up on the same card in Madison Square Garden.

The legendary wrecking ball that is MIKE TYSON faces his toughest ever foe, in a prime GEORGE FOREMAN we have a bona fide top 10 ATG, arguably top 5. Can Iron Mike live up to the hype?

The undercard brings together two oft forgotten champions, as evidenced by their lowly draft spots. Yet JERSEY JOE WALCOTT is no mug, having beaten the great Ezzard Charles for his world title, after having been robbed in his first bout for the belt against the great Joe Louis (may his vengeful soul have mercy on Crease, and not take revenge for the certain ruination of his reputation this season). The other side of the ring waits FLOYD PATTERSON, who was one fast motherfucker, and also the youngest heavyweight champ in history at the time.

In short, we bring to you a glorious event, sure to live long in the memory of all who attend, except Iron Mike and Floyd, who probably won't remember (serious beatings having a tendency to provoke that effect).

Perhaps the winner of this little boy scout scuffle could be thrown to Marciano......
