Where have you all gone?

Post by mbudgen »

All the El Maachi haters out there have gone very quiet!

I knew he would prove everyone wrong, and considering he was less than 50% fit I promise you there is a lot more to come from him :D

The Showman has well and truly arrived!

He did very well to win but after that final, if he wants to call himself The Showman then he could be in violation of the trades description act.

Less than 50% fit? I don't know how you calculate this, but it sounds like an exaggeration. He seemed to perform to a similar level as he has done in the past.

Good luck to him, he seems like a nice guy.

I promise you he couldn't get out of bed just two weeks before prizefighter. If you watch his ring entrance into the final against witter yass is coughing, this is the aftermath of being sick in the changing room before the fight!

When he fought Jimmy Colas he was a lot sharper and stronger. In his next fight we will see the difference

Well the problem is the British passport as most people know. As he doesnt currently have one so he cant fight for British, Commonwealth or European titles. Perhaps one of the big promoters will want to sign him up and get him a crack at a world title. However Yassine is under contract with Mr Goodwin and I know Steve wants to try and progress Yass as far as he possibly can.

A rematch with Lynes is something being considered, but only if there is no obvious way forward towards a bigger title fight.

Also does Colin Lynes want a rematch?

I think most people thought he was a decent fighter, as he proved before the prizefighter win. However, I just thought he talked too much and I also thought that you didn't do him any favours with your blinkered posts which were almost exclusively about him.

Perhaps I was harsh thinking he talked too much. Still right about the other point though

I hope a rematch with Colin Lynes can be arranged, over a proper distance this time (i.e. 10 rounds).

Good luck to Yassine; but Colin should feel very hard done by having the decision go against him.

And was it a coughing fit that caused him to hurl Junior Witter out of the ring like a Scotsman at a caber-tossing event?

Guys, don't get too carried away by the el maachi hype, he did do well to beat witter I give him that BUT he should not have been in the final, Lynes beat him. Watch the fight again and look how far more uncomfortable el maachi was in his 3 rounds against Lynes then how he was against witter, showboating against THE showboater! El maachi's corner know he got a decision he should not have. I welcome a proper fight over distance but I suspect El maachi would not be so . Lynes will fight anybody, anywhere and perform.

El Maachi is hardly the next big thing in boxing. I'd go as far to say that he's probably one of the worst winners of a Prizefighter event and that's a Prizefighter event that he actually lost a fight in. It didn't even get a mention on Ringside. I wish him all the best what ever he does but I certainly don't want to be watching him in the future.

Thats odd because we offered a rematch with Bertrand Aloa and was told Yassine doesnt do rematchs with people hes beat.??

Before you shoot this down max im sure steve will verify that for you.

Colin Lynes would welcome a rematch, i doubt Yassine El Maachi would. For a prizefighter winner to get so little support is unusual, and without a british passport what title can he go for?

The first time I have seen him live and wasn't all that impressed to be honest. He clearly lost to Lynes and then he would have been back where he was. I am not convinced he will go far but in my opinion he needs to fight Lynes again and settle that score before you can go on talking him up again.

Last time you were on about this, you were slagging Ryan Rhodes off for not fighting him. I bet Rhodes was pissing his sides after watching that final.

I was there at prizefighter and i wouldnt say Lynes clearly won. it wasnt a great fight not many punches landed so no one was a clear winner could of gone either way so that is an overstatement

I was there and Lynes clearly won as 99% of the crowd made their feeling known at the end of the fight. A rematch over a proper distance and Lynes would school him. He never ever won that fight. But a nice guy to be fair.
