Ok, seriously.Gray-Fox wrote:I'm certainly not a Mayweather sycophant, but breakdown his last couple of opponents with Manny's.charlieb wrote:Quite surprised at the amount of Mayweather sycophants there are on the brit forum.
I have endless Roach and Arum quotes (on youtube interviews) saying shit like "Floyd will never fight Mosley" or "Mosley's old and washed up" or "Marquez is old" etc etc - THIS IS ALL FACT as well. Please deny these things were said, at your peril.
then guess what?
Floyd fights Mosley first...then guess who fights him? then Manny-Mosley suddenly becomes a good fight to Arum and Roach. Then Manny fights Marquez, because "the boxing world wants it".
Get the eff outta here, about Mayweather sycophants. Manny is just as engineered as you say Floyd is.
Although I've made no mention of Mayweather being an 'engineered' fighter, or Pacquiao's own choice of opponent, the simplest answer to your question, is with a question. Why won't he fight Pacquiao?
Talk about who they've fought all you like, bottom line - Mayweather has been throwing curve balls from the moment the Pacquiao fight became a serious option, and at each of the junctions where Pacquiao has bent to his unreasonable demands, Mayweather has then moved the goalposts, finding a new way not to make the fight happen each and every time.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Find me evidence, clear, genuine evidence of this (like what he actually did to move the goalposts) and I'll accept it.charlieb wrote:

What I do know is that Bob Arum turned down 65m (as Pac lovers claim Floyd did) to fight Mayweather. That I know as FACT. Why did they do that? Accepting surely would have given them the moral victory.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
I think you're a little confused, if you're referring to the Arum video, which you pointed at in a thread on the current scene, as proof that Pacquiao had been offered 65 mil, you need to rewatch it. Arum's referring to the offer made to Floyd, or the offer 'allegedly' made to him by a third party, and not Pacquiao.Gray-Fox wrote:Find me evidence, clear, genuine evidence of this (like what he actually did to move the goalposts) and I'll accept it.charlieb wrote:

Maybe it's the 65m offer to fight Alvarez that you're thinking of?

He mentions nothing else about Alvarez. I actually think he said that but realised after that he shouldn't have.
You're the one that's confused son.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Sure, after the third party had made the offer to Mayweather and he demanded 10m up front, killing it dead in the water.Gray-Fox wrote:Arum's words were: "I know the offer was made to us"charlieb wrote:I think you're a little confused, if you're referring to the Arum video, which you pointed at in a thread on the current scene, as proof that Pacquiao had been offered 65 mil, you need to rewatch it. So what if the offer was made to one fighter when the other guy, Mayweather, has already scuppered it? It takes two to tango and it would appear Floyd doesn't feel like dancing. The offer to Arum isn't really an offer if fighter A has already removed himself from the equation.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Orrrrrrr, as I stated earlier, they could have took it just to take the moral victory, which it surely would have given them.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
I'll play along. Where is it stated that they turned the (already nixed) offer down?Gray-Fox wrote:Orrrrrrr, as I stated earlier, they could have took it just to take the moral victory, which it surely would have given them.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Well they obviously didn't take it did they, or it would be all over the Pac nuthugger threads/forums.
Nice try son, but you've failed.

Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Ludicrous. Where's the sense in proclaiming that they've accepted the offer to fight Mayweather when it's already been widely reported that Mayweather had already blown the deal? How can you blatantly ignore that and then find fault with Pacquiao's side when Mayweather's already shot it down?Gray-Fox wrote:Well they obviously didn't take it did they, or it would be all over the Pac nuthugger threads/forums.

You're just misdirecting blame which clearly lies at Mayweather's door, onto Pacquiao, because for whatever reason you're blinkered to the obvious, Mayweather will not take this fight until the financial reward (for his scalp) simply becomes too much to turn down, either that or the IRS force his hand, whichever comes first, if at all.
Dearie me.Nice try son, but you've failed

1) I asked you to find me evidence that Floyd blew the fight deal. I'll accept three articles from credible boxing writers.charlieb wrote:Gray-Fox wrote:Well they obviously didn't take it did they, or it would be all over the Pac nuthugger threads/forums.

2) Mayweather's not broke, not with tax or anything else.
3) We can settle this with boxing if you want, I like shutting smartarses up.

Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
I get the impression that Mayweather seriously doubts that Pacquaio is not on performance enhancing drugs, and if that is his view, then why should he box him. I warm to Manny a lot, he seems very friendly and approachable, but I am slightly concerned that he never wanted to take the proper tests, and has got faster and gained more stamina as he has got a lot bigger.I hope my doubts are unfounded because he is a special talent and every fight he takes part in is an event.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
i always thought that they weren't 'proper' tests? (In terms of not being a necessity). I thought he said no because he didn't want to be bossed around by a worried Mayweather, taking tests he didn't need too?....

Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
I think Mayeather's concern is that the tests in Nevada are only urine samples, which would show up steroids, but would not offer any sign of Human Growth Hormones, and other stamina and strength increasing drugs, which you need blood tests for.To be fair to Mayweather, who certainly doesn't always endear himself to everyone, I think his conerns are genuine.Crazyboy wrote:i always thought that they weren't 'proper' tests? I still can't beleive Manny Pacquaio turned down £40m and an even higher place in history rather than take a 'full' test.He could be innocent of course, and I hope he is, but if I am honest I can't shake the feeling that not everything is legitimate.Would love to be proved wrong.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Manny doesn't want to take Olympic style testing because "it makes him feel funny". What utter BS.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
If it affects his performance why should he? and he agreed to testing anyway. So try and come up with another Mayweather lie hey?Gray-Fox wrote:Manny doesn't want to take Olympic style testing because "it makes him feel funny". What utter BS.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
He agreed with a huge concession actually, which Money May accepted.Camcas wrote:If it affects his performance why should he? and he agreed to testing anyway. Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Mayweather is a pudendum. Either fight the best, or fornicate off. Him vs. Ortiz? Mayweather UD, easy.
Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
That video's a good demonstration of the delusion suffered by Mayweather's fans. All it actually shows is Roach making concession after concession in order to help make the fight happen, yet the numpty who put the video together tries to imply that he's been made to look stupid, that he's been humbled, that he should know his place, etc. These guys just can't see the forest for the trees, it's crazy.Gray-Fox wrote:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8hGAlaw ... re=related
If/when Mayweather gets past Ortiz, the talk of fighting Pacquiao will be right back at the fore, and when it is, you have to wonder what the next Floyd-manufactured obstacle's going to be? Perhaps he'll put the boot into his mrs again and take another time out, or perhaps (as Roach puts it in that muddled up video) he'll demand 16 ounce gloves or 2 minute rounds. That'll show 'em.

Re: Mayweather-Ortiz done for Sept 17
Lads, all Manny has to do is take the tests. Thousands of Olympic athletes do the same without moaning about affecting perfomance. It casts serious doubts over Manny and there will always be a question mark over his legacy if the fight does not happen because of this. Floyd is right. If he was suspicious to begin with, i bet now he is just convinced he is on the gear.
